...I watched the South Africa - England rugby international on Saturday night. It was a closely fought game, with England playing well apart from the first 10 or 15 minutes, and South Africa strugglung to find their usual form, although admittedly disrupted by players going off injured throughout the game. I have played rugby at junior level (front row), so I know how difficult the refs job is, and am usually prepared to give the referee the benefit of the doubt, but I have never seen such a disgraceful display of overtly biased refereeing as that served up by NZ's Colin Hawke in this match.
