This is the printer I use at work. It is a fairly standard entry-level, mono laser printer, with one major drawback - the paper tray. It costs around £250 and is reasonable value for money.
Cartridges are reasonably priced at around £60 (after all these are the most expensive part of running any printer) and last for a long time.
The print quality is excellent and output is fast. However, the printer is noisy in operation and the buttons are very flimsy and small. Lights flash when there is a paper jam or other fault, but no other indication is given of what is wrong or how to fix it, which can be frustrating.
The big problem we have with the printer (in our office, they do tend to be used heavily) is the paper cartridge. It has an annoying tendency to jam, and the printer often says that paper is jammed in the machine, when it is perfectly fine!
A small green plastic thing popped out of the back of the paper tray yesterday, and I can't seem to get it back in. This may have something to do with its poor performance, but it is a brand-new printer, only a few weeks old and never worked very well from the start!
The printer seems to jam most frequently when I try to print labels or envelopes. The envelope feeder tray is also fiddly to use and this is down to the lack of generally decent build quality. I know this is a cheap printer, but Kyocera seem to have cut too many corners in its design to keep the price down.
I can't comment on manufacturer support, as we use this in an office enviorenment and this is done in-house. The repair man came today and confirmed what I thought - the paper jam is due to a design fault and the little green thing was critical in stopping the paper getting jam. He quickly clicked it back into place (it was held in with a spring) and recommended fixing it in place with a glue gun (which would be fine as long as you only use A4 paper).
On the whole, I find it hard to recommend this printer, as it is too unreliable.
