...After my negative last printer review, I’ve decided to review another of our collection. The KyoceraFS 680 is my personal favourite. Which is a strange thing to admit under the circumstances!! About a year ago while in the process of finding new printers my boss suggested this one, to which I recalled what the hell is the point in buying it…We need A3 minimum and definitely something capable of printing colour. My boss inevitably ignored my comments and headed straight out to purchase this.
Incredibly this printer has since become a god send. Although only able to print A4 and black and white, this printer consistently chugs away day after day without a glitch. Before I launch into a buy now buy now speech I’ll tell you the features of the printer and let you decide!
Compatibility:
This printer as with most is compatible...

Advantages: Very reliable, low cost per page Disadvantages: None
...I bought first KyoceraFS 5030N for my company at February 2007. After six months we own another four of those. It shows how satisfied I am with quality of that product.
First quick description.
It's medium speed (24 pages per minute), color (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, blacK), laser printer with network interface (letter N on the end of a product name). It prints with same speed for B/W and color documents. Maximum print resolution is 600x600dpi.
It warms up in 80sec from power on, time to first page is 12sec. Inside sits processor PowerPC 750FX/600MHz with 128MB RAM, expandable to 1024MB.
It has smallest footprint (35x47x39cm) in its class. Offers very easy access to toners and waste toner tank. Each toner stands for printing 8k pages (in lab conditions of course, in real those numbers highly depends on average page coverage), which...

Advantages: Ease of Use, Speed and quality Disadvantages: Size of footprint
...Have had the FX1000+ and decided to retire it in favour of this one.
It has excellent speed and the internal proc does a lot for it. The quality as you would expect from Kyocera is excellent colour photographs come out excellent in B/W. An excellent machine for the office or home with crisp clear copies all of the time. Speed for copies is excellent to at an advertised 14 ppm, it certainly reaches this.
My problem with this one, as with the last is the size of the machine, however, you can ignore this because of the 2 year warranty, which means you have no probs with drum replacement in that time - great. Toner refills are on a par with other manufacturers and are easy to change.
A good buy if you can spare the extra money....

--How does it look?--
It’s basically a large, beige cube with four little indicator lights on the top. It is split into three sections; the top section is where the printed paper comes out, the middle section houses the toner, lets you feed sheets of... more
