Manufacturer's product description
Designed with the industrial market in mind, the FS-1550+ is a dependable workhorse, providing 43 scaleable built-in barcodes, which means faster printing. Coupled with the Kyocera Industrial Paper Handling series (options that include 2, 000 sheet feeder and stacker units with a straight-through paper path) the FS-1550+ is easily transformed into a high capacity barcode label printer. The Kyocera FS-1550+ featured Kyocera's unique "cartridge-free" design, comprised of guarantee long-life components. As a result, this environmentally friendly printer offered the lowest operating cost in the industry! Savings are further increased for barcode applications as the density of toner used to produce barcodes is about 4 times greater than printing standard text. The FS-1550+ also featured the EcoPower energy conserving mode, which exceeded EPA Energy Star program requirements by 33%. The Kyocera FS-1550+ provided enhanced connectivity capabilities with support for SNMP. This allowed the printer to communicate with other SNMP-compliant systems and software. Kyocera's family of Network Interface Cards - which can support up to 10 network operating systems simultaneously - allows the FS-1550+ to connect with the most popular local area networks. The FS-1550+ was designed to grow as printing needs demanded. With one of the most versatile paper handling systems ever developed, printing capabilities are expanded as required. Options included up to two 500-sheet paper drawers, a power duplexer, and a sorter/stacker/electronic mailbox for organization and efficiency.
Advantages: Very reliable, low cost per page Disadvantages: None
..., compact flash memory, high capacity output tray.
Kyocera has one more ace in its sleeve - drivers. Imagine that they developed one super-driver for all printers/copiers they produce. That way once you installed any Kyocera printer, you can add more and don't care about driver; it's already there.
And now from my experience with FS 5030N.
We use 5030DN models (network interface plus duplex unit). No problems what so ever. Never failed. Installation is dead easy, just like with the rest of Kyocera products. Paper jams are very rare and in most cases are human related (average user can't understand, that you are suppose to put paper into tray neatly, and not just throw it in). Great, economic color printer forworkgroup use....

Advantages: Ease of Use, Speed and quality Disadvantages: Size of footprint
...Have had the FX1000+ and decided to retire it in favour of this one.
It has excellent speed and the internal proc does a lot for it. The quality as you would expect from Kyocera is excellent colour photographs come out excellent in B/W. An excellent machine for the office or home with crisp clear copies all of the time. Speed for copies is excellent to at an advertised 14 ppm, it certainly reaches this.
My problem with this one, as with the last is the size of the machine, however, you can ignore this because of the 2 year warranty, which means you have no probs with drum replacement in that time - great. Toner refills are on a par with other manufacturers and are easy to change.
A good buy if you can spare the extra money....

Advantages: Fast, Reliable, Easy to Feed paper Disadvantages: It doesnt fit into standard computer desks,
...After my negative last printer review, I’ve decided to review another of our collection. The KyoceraFS 680 is my personal favourite. Which is a strange thing to admit under the circumstances!! About a year ago while in the process of finding new printers my boss suggested this one, to which I recalled what the hell is the point in buying it…We need A3 minimum and definitely something capable of printing colour. My boss inevitably ignored my comments and headed straight out to purchase this.
Incredibly this printer has since become a god send. Although only able to print A4 and black and white, this printer consistently chugs away day after day without a glitch. Before I launch into a buy now buy now speech I’ll tell you the features of the printer and let you decide!
Compatibility:
This printer as with most is compatible with PC...
