Manufacturer's product description
The FS-1900 is designed with ECOSYS technology. Utilizing high-yield parts that last longer than conventional printer cartridge units, ECOSYS printers reduce the need to replace all-in-one Toner Cartridges and imaging drums on a frequent basis. These long-life parts offer extremely high yields, reducing operating, service and consumable costs while providing the highest-quality image outputs. The ECOSYS design ensures a low cost per print and an overall Total Cost of Ownership well below the industry average. The FS-1900 is among a small group of printers that deliver 1200 dpi output at full engine speed. This means you can expect crisp, clear black and white images for professional-looking documents without any decrease in productivity. The FS-1900 prints 19 pages a minute with the first print out in only 9.5 seconds - perfect for users with heavy print traffic up to 10, 000 pages a month. Featuring a standard 500 sheet drawer, and a 100 sheet Multi-Purpose tray, the FS-1900 is able to print on Legal paper right out of the box. The FS-1900 also offers a full array of paper handling options including Duplexing, Increased Paper Handling, Envelope Printing, Sorting, and Stacking. Utilizing these features, the FS-1900 can solve even the most complex of problems for the workgroup of today. The extensive range of connectivity options of the FS-1900 includes Parallel, USB, Serial, and Network interfaces. With a standard Parallel and USB interface, and an optional Serial or 10/100BaseTX interface, the FS-1900 can fit into virtually any network environment. The FS-1900 printer uses the KX Driver technology, providing users with the ability to accomplish all printing tasks from start to finish from the workstation. What's more, the KX Driver supports all Kyocera Copiers and Printers on the network, making it easy for everyone to print without the need to learn multiple drivers. The KM Net Viewer Software provides network-wide management of all Kyocera products as well as the competition on the network. It provides the critical information needed to insure optimal performance including printer status, reporting and error notification and more.
Advantages: Very reliable, low cost per page Disadvantages: None
...I bought first KyoceraFS 5030N for my company at February 2007. After six months we own another four of those. It shows how satisfied I am with quality of that product.
First quick description.
It's medium speed (24 pages per minute), color (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, blacK), laser printer with network interface (letter N on the end of a product name). It prints with same speed for B/W and color documents. Maximum print resolution is 600x600dpi.
It warms up in 80sec from power on, time to first page is 12sec. Inside sits processor PowerPC 750FX/600MHz with 128MB RAM, expandable to 1024MB.
It has smallest footprint (35x47x39cm) in its class. Offers very easy access to toners and waste toner tank. Each toner stands for printing 8k pages (in lab conditions of course, in real those numbers highly depends on average page coverage), which...

Advantages: Fast, Reliable, Easy to Feed paper Disadvantages: It doesnt fit into standard computer desks,
...After my negative last printer review, I’ve decided to review another of our collection. The KyoceraFS 680 is my personal favourite. Which is a strange thing to admit under the circumstances!! About a year ago while in the process of finding new printers my boss suggested this one, to which I recalled what the hell is the point in buying it…We need A3 minimum and definitely something capable of printing colour. My boss inevitably ignored my comments and headed straight out to purchase this.
Incredibly this printer has since become a god send. Although only able to print A4 and black and white, this printer consistently chugs away day after day without a glitch. Before I launch into a buy now buy now speech I’ll tell you the features of the printer and let you decide!
Compatibility:
This printer as with most is compatible...

...with the installation, the website does have a section in it's help pages to assist you with the printer set-up.
--Price--
You can buy the FS1010 for about £200. It puts it down at the cheaper end of the Laser printer scale but the cheapness doesn’t hide a lack of quality.
--Cartridge Cost--
We can buy our cartridge (TK-17) for £46 from our supplier and according to the manufacturer it will last for about 5,000-6,000 sheets, which works out at an extremely cheap 0.0092p-0.007p per sheet. We use the printer mainly for producing very wordy letters which increases the ink usage and reduces the pages to about 3,000 per cartridge (0.015p per sheet).
--Online Support--
Kyocera has a very comprehensive UK-based website which provides a lot of information on each of their products, including where to buy, cartridge costs etc. It has a support helpdesk...
