This LAKS USB Memory watch definitely goes into my good books for sure! With its neat adaptation to the standard USB Memory sticks it can also, conveniently, tell the time in analogue. The watch itself needs only a few accessories to operate on any computer. The watch basically consists on it telling the time and storing files.
~~~~: Telling the Time
With watches in general I definitely prefer analogue time rather than the cheap looking digital time. Luckily, this watch is analogue, could it get any better? The answer is yes! Its easy interface is perfect, with its illuminating chrome coloured hands it’s easily readable in dark areas. It’s so comfortable I often forget to take it off when I go to sleep, which can sometimes be of a disadvantage! No matter how many files stored on the watch the batteries continually last for an acceptable three years. You need not be worry about misplaced leads as it’s all stored in the wrist strap.
~~~~: File Storage (Plug and Play)
The watch itself can hold around 32 megabytes of files, which on average is a fair amount of space for the average person. Other watches, like this one, hold around 64 megabytes of space and are about £5-£10 more; I wasn’t very happy when I found out this fact. To work, the watch requires drivers; these normally come with operating systems such as Windows XP. However if your using an older operating system such as Windows 98, 95 etc, you’ll have problems. If you wish to use the watch on these computers the watch requires you to have the necessary software (drivers) to even begin to recognize the watch, to obtain the necessary software you have to use a CD-ROM containing the drivers or even download them from the website; http://www.laks.com.
Its file system is much like a large Floppy Disk; it holds any types of files and demonstrates as an extra
drive, like the customary “A:\ Drive”.

The watch also comes with a very useful meter long USB extension lead; very useful for any USB ports hidden behind the computer base!! An extra LED light covers the “9” number which lets you know if the device is or out of use, this helps you safely take the watch out without any harm done. The watch is water-resistant to some degree but ever since I dropped it in the washing up at work it’s stopped working efficiently, meaning, sometimes my computer doesn’t recognize the watch but on other occasions it does. Somewhat annoying!
~~~~: Not just a fashion accessory.
With the watch not just being a fashion accessory it comes in good practical use. If I were to recommend a potential watch buyer I’d direct them to this very watch, I’d say, forget about the branded sport watches or the expensive gold
plated watches and buy this multipurpose LAKS USB Memory watch.

In General, I’d recommend this watch to anyone who can tell the time and/or uses a computer.
