    Advantages Advantages Nothing.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Tabloid journalism in radio form. Unchallenging, repetitive, garbage.

LBC 97.3 was, previously, a very good station with a diverse range of programs from news and current affairs discussions, through to general chit-chat, advice shows, discussion on showbusiness related matters, and also comedy. The situation with LBC 97.3, which has largely been influenced by its takeover by the company Global Radio is, unfortunately, quite different. Over the past 18 months all of the shows that have some modicum of interest or originality have gradually been phased out. Sandi Toksig's show went first, then Anna Raeburn's extremely useful (and popular) advice program was axed ... more

Advantages Advantages variety of prgrammes, upbeat, suits all ages, phone in, competitions

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

LBC is a commercial talk radio. Primarily catering to London it is now available on DAB nationwide. Programmes vary in content from very lightweight and frankly downright silly (Clive Bull in the evenings) to political and inflamatory (Nick Farrari breakfast show) and everything in between so there is something for everyone. Some shows emphasise audience particpication whilst other (the ascerbic Steve Allen pre-breakfast) positively discourage it. The staion has been going for decades but in the last 5 years or so has leapt from local radio station status with what I feel was probably quite a ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Steve Allen, Andrew Pearce and Kevin Maguire

LBC 97.3FM broadcasts some of our best and worst radio. Within its painfully repetitious programme schedule same-old presenters churn out same-old content. They even somehow manage to bring to air (via telephone) the same-old three or four expert commentators and - I swear it - a limited pool of same-old public callers, mostly predictably opinionated black cab drivers. Where this station scores is, in my view, in its real time news and information. Demonstrated superbly during the recent inner city riots, the ability to hear up-to-the-minute eye witness reports from callers in London is ... more

Advantages Advantages 24 Hours Per day with live presenters

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Bill Butley

LBC is a long established speech and conversation station, the station is extremely diverse with some great topics including the latest news, sport, and if you call to air your views there is a good chance you will get. LBC has virtually become national on DAB radio in the UK, some very wekk known presenters like Anna Raeburn, Ian Lee, and Clive Bull. I feel however the worst presenter without a doubt is Bill Butley who has taken over the late night shift. His show talks about silly things, his voice is pathetic, and needs to get with it, overall very boring. Many regular listeners have now ... more

Advantages Advantages OnAir 24/7 (Practically), Good Presenters and more!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some of the presenters sound dull...

INTRODUCTION London's LBC is a quality radio station that is on practically 24/7, to fill up time they sometimes do "best off"' shows. Which is just basically a podcast put on the radio, but nether the less, the station is of high quality! MY EXPERIANCE At 1am in the morning, i couldn't sleep... So i decided to look through my DAB Radio stations and came accross London's LBC! Adrian Alan was on, but i didn't know anything about the station so wasn't expecting anything good... But oh my word! Its excellent, good quality presenters, cheesy station jingles and more. Its got the lot! The ... more
