Price drops make the Viewsonic VG150 a compelling value
Review of ViewSonic VG150 by
Uncle_Tippet
Advantages: Very light and brightest in its class. Replaces a 17" regular monitor.
Disadvantages: Hard to thread cords in the back of monitor. Not suitable for high-action games
...panel LCD monitors compelling. The Viewsonic now VG150 costs about $450 (I bought mine for $399 after rebate) and works very well. WOW is the word I use to describe it. It's important to note that a 15" LCD monitor replaces a 17" regular monitor. The LCD monitor uses the entire screen without the black frame that regular monitors have. Here's how the VG150/VG150b stacks up to standard Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) monitors and its competitors (e.g. Samsung): ... ...Energy Savings The Viewsonic uses 30W, about a quarter of the power regular CRT monitors use. It's also well within the standard range of 25-40W for LCD monitors. The Viewsonic meets Energy Star standards and has a power-saving mode which automatically shuts the screen down if it does not detect any activity. Brightness and Contrast I was pleasantly surprised by the clarity of the monitor compared to the regular notebook screens. I was told that ...

Love this Flat Screen
Review of ViewSonic VP150 by
BobMauser
Advantages: Great resolution, brightness and small footprint
Disadvantages: Still more expensive than traditional CRTs, not good for graphic design
I had my company buy this flat screen to take care of a couple of different problems: First, I had no room on my desk for a standart CRT monitor and second, I couldn't keep staring at my laptop screen for 8 hours a day.
When I got the screen hooked up, I was amazed by the color and clarity. Plus, there is virtually no glare. It's bright, has good resolution and the image fills the whole screen. I use the flat screen for pretty basic stuff: Word, ...

Versatile and great for desktop publishing
Review of ViewSonic VPA150 by
hawklady99
Advantages: Versatile and saves a ton of desk space
Disadvantages: speakers are rubbish
I bought this monitor because I didn't have room on top of my rolltop desk for the older conventional monitor I had. I had to sit sideways on my chair to look at the monitor and use the keyboard at the same time.
Anyone with a space constraint would love this monitor. I also chose it because it rotates 90 degrees to an upright position if i need it to. This is great for desktop publishing to allow you to see the whole page at once. I also like it ... ...make copies of my files in MS explorer. I can list a lot more files when I turn the monitor than when it is in the normal horizontal mode. The speakers in it aren't great though. if you are going to purchase this i would definately advise you to keep your old speakers, becasue they are probably better than the built in ones, you can just turn these ones off.
One thing I had a problem with was the drivers and compatibility with WIN98. I started with ...

Its Fab To Watch Corrie in HD!
Review of Samsung SyncMaster T240HD by
scotlandizdabest
Advantages: Fantastic Picture And Price
Disadvantages: Took 3 People To Put The TV On The Bloody Stand!
...over.
About It
The Samsung T240 HD is a flat screen TV which has Freeview built in, as long as you are able to access it in your area. This TV is fantastic if you are wanting to update your older one, and because of the Digital switch over that will be happening around the country, it will then save you buying a new freeview box as well. It is also HD ready which means you will be able to plug in a Blu-Ray player, PS3, Xbox 360 or any other ... ...originally going to buy a Samsung TV. We were going to stay with Sony as that is really what we would usually buy. We were always pretty loyal customers. We went to the local Dixons which has 100's of TVs on show. What was proven was that Sony was not a big player anymore. The Samsung appealed most because of the quality. It was next to a LG which wasn't as good as the Samsung. But the size of it is we, at 24" is really big. Dixons showed it off ...

HP w1907v Monitor
Review of HP W1907v by
kindlyraccoon
Advantages: easy to use/set up. Widescreen. Built in speakers.
Disadvantages: Not enough base on sound
I have spent my christmas money on this monitor. Looking at its clarity in the store made me decide to go for it.
Getting home and taking it out of the box, I was pleased with the way it was protected against knocks and bumps. Plenty of cover over the screen to stop scratches.
When I got its base fastened to the screen it was then I realised how heavy it was. It sits nice and firm on the desk. The tilting mechanism works great although a bit tight ... ...I would of licked it to adjust upwards aswell, but for the price its good. A 19 inch wide screen is definatly good for watching movies with. Connecting it up to the computer is with the VGA socket (the blue multi pinned one) and no other one is there so one thing to think about when you buy it. The cable is supplied with the unit though.
The nice thing about the power cable is it does not have a mains dropper on it. You plug straight into the mains ...
