Review of Apple Cinema Display by intelligents

Advantages: excellent quality, USB and Firewire ports, better than competition
Disadvantages: cabling, more exepensive than competition

I'm an Apple user through-and-through. Though I'm writing this on a PC! I bought this screen to go with my G5 Powermac and installation couldn't be easier. When you first set eyes on it you can't help but admire its elegance and design. Its clarity is superb and you can view it from almost any angle without a substantial loss of quality. The depth and contrast is perfect for photo editing and gaming. Its fast response also helps with fast moving ...
...laptop and, having used the Apple screen, i struggle to use it for video editing. It's just too cramped. The Apple screen gives you loads of space and feels quite 'airy' - if you see what i mean. Another nice feature is the USB (x2) and Firewire (x2) ports on the back. These make up for the lack of slots on the computer. One tiny issue though is the amount of cabling. When set up you'll have a power lead, USB and Firewire cables and the DVI cable ... Read review

Great Screens but read before buying
Review of Formac Gallery 2010 by Darkle

Advantages: High Quality Screen, Low refresh rate, Built in USB Hub great looks, Excellent Viewing angles
Disadvantages: 1 Year warranty, sometimes with Macintosh connector not PC

The Formac 2010 is a fantastic TFT. I have set a number of these up for clients and the refresh times, viewing angles and the sheer size of the screen make them ideal for watching DVDs, playing games(see below about games) and generally using the computer. Gone are the days of ghosting that used to be associated with TFTs. Great as these are, I would like to make sure anyone intending to buy one of these is aware of a few points which may cause ...
...The native resolution of the Formac Gallery 2010 is 1600x1200, this means that anything below this resolution(while it will work) will look blocky and not sharp, this does happen with all TFTs which are not run at their native resolution, but if you're used to a 19" or smaller TFT you might not have had to run at such a High res before. The problem that this creates is that when playing a 3d game, the more modern it is, most likely, the more power ... Read review

Fantastic, a real star!
Review of ViewSonic VX1945wm ViewDock by Olivah

Advantages: Fantastic sharp picture, Sound Dock, Sound Impressive, HD Resolutions, Sleek look
Disadvantages: Only HD Resolutions are worth using, lots of wires to set up!

I received this for part of my birthday present not so long ago and I have to say my experience with it has been great, it provides High Definition resolutions which is fantastic for viewing family photographs and videos. One of the most unique and awesome features is that it has an iPod dock (which supports all iPods) combined with the sound dock, it produces an impressive level of sound; the monitor itself can be used without the sound dock but ... LG L1919S
Review of LG L1919S by sukerman

Advantages: Cheap ish, bright, probably very good for film / games
Disadvantages: No DVI, speakers, poor colour accuracy, not good for work

...was going to buy two LG 19" for the same money as they seem to have the best contrast ratio, so hopefully the sharpest picture. Having said that.... I believe the 1400 and 2000 LG claim on their monitors is 'contrast enhanced' or something and not a true ratio. I had a Hanns G from argos currently £99 as the cheapest they sold for a test. It was very good, but I thought I'd swap it for the £150 L1919S to see what it was like before buying a couple ...
...The picture on the LG is very bright and in your face, text isn't as clear as the HG. Colours are very bright but not very accurate. Light grays can hardly be seen. As a web designer I need accurate colours and I know what #EEEEEE should look like. On the LG its so faint its hard to distinguish from white. Not good. The HG was much better in this regard. Looking at the stars below in the rating for this review the stars can barely be seen. This ... Read review
