A little brother TFT to our 19 inch monsters
Review of HP L1706 by
andycharger
Advantages: Great picture, good colour depth, good features
Disadvantages: No sound
...user here at work of HP products nowadays. The reasoning behind this is we need reliability and quality of service and products. We want a good product that is robust enough to last the test of time with the staff!
So while I was giving my IT team and developers were a huge screen resolution to maximise their working space, I opted for the little brother equivalent for the general office floor. After all, screen size is a little less important and ... ...even compliments the new DC7700 HP Pcs we have just purchased. In fact it is an identical copy of the L1906 I have already reviewed but with 2 inches less to view!
This screen is very responsive and has excellent refresh rates and depth of colour. This is equally at home in the office for diplaying presentations and general work or for lightning quick action games at home. It also offers a terrific crisp and clear picture and the screen delivers ...

Buy something else...
Review of HP Pavilion Vs17e by
BroncosFan6
Advantages: Decent for the price
Disadvantages: DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT WITHOUT A WARRANTY!
...this monitor (along with an HP Pavilion a1600n Desktop PC) Brand New from Circuit City in Portage, Michigan. I paid $239.99 plus tax for the monitor & $599.99 for the PC, for a grand total of $890.38. I was not offered an extended warranty by the salesman, as he assured me that I would not need one. Monitor seemed to work very good until it stopped working one morning. (1 year & 53 days later to be exact) I contacted Circuit City about repair & they ... ...after all the money I had spent with them. I contacted HP by phone & spoke with a foriener that could barely speak english. I requested her immediate supervisor. I was then told that after spending roughly $900.00 on their product, there was nothing that they would do for me. ...

Pretty much faultless
Review of HP L1950 by
alimason
Advantages: flexible, dust free, good picture quality
Disadvantages: possibly extra expenditure
I have been using this monitor for the last 8 months and i must say that i have been very impressed by it. Although i have only used 3 other monitors before i can say that is definitely the best i have come across. Firstly the good things: well, unlike my laptop and monitor at home this one does not seem to be a dust magnet meaning that at work i very rarely have to wipe down the screen and the picture on screen remains dust free. The size of the ... ...and size of the housing. The screen is 19in which compared to my smaller laptop of 17in and by huge desktop which is 22in is ideal, it doesn't take up too much space but is perfect for viewing smaller print and doing intricate designs. The housing is also a good size and unlike traditional monitors it takes up very little space n my desk.
One of my favourite features of this monitor is its 'flexible' base, which allows it to be moved to face all ...

HP- How perfect!?
Review of HP L1940T by
Simbaspaws
Advantages: Massive screen, brilliant quality for money
Disadvantages: None
Hmm.. the HP L1940T Flat screen monitor.... Well, I recently got upgraded to XP at work, so we decided to treat ourselves to a new flat screen, to save a lot of space on our desk! I've got to say that the screen has made a huge impact. First of all, it's bigger, then the fact it takes up less room, plus it has it's own intergrated speakers- Which is brilliant! as the sound on my computer comes out of the stack, which is kept under the desk. I don't ... ...but I would happily pay 200 for it. The monitor also moves up and down and back and forth so you can position it wherever is best for you. It also has a handy little stand where you can place all your cuddly toys on!! There are several buttons on the front where you can change the settings, and a volume dial. It's plug and play too, just take your old monitor away and plug this new one straight in- it couldn't be more easy!
This product is definetly ...

A brilliant desktop TFT monitor.
Review of HP L1906 by
andycharger
Advantages: Great performance, resolution capabilities, looks
Disadvantages: lack of speakers, no DVI or S Video connectivity
...work we are a major HP user nowadays. Mainly because of the reliability and quality of the products. Hey, im the IT manager so the better quality products we buy, the less maintenance and replacing we need to do!
That why when my developers were asking for more screen resolution to maximise their working space, we needed 19 inch monitors that could not only give a bigger picture but also offer larger resolutions than the industry standard 1024 x ... ...x 1024 Resolution which the HP L1906 copes with admirably. Without any problems from refresh rates or screen temperatures, this screen delivers exactly the right size desktop for our needs.
Talking of refresh rates and response times, it is fantastic at reproducing lightning quick action sequences so again makes it a natural choice when choosing a screen for playing games on.
Its a bright and functional screen with vivid colours and able to produce ...
