A wise choice of widescreen.
Review of Acer AL1916S by
boberto
Advantages: Atractive, Good price, Looks good.
Disadvantages: None
I wanted to replace my old CRT and started to look into which screen to get. Firstly I looked at standerd 4:3 aspect ratio screens but was atracted to widescreens because I could watch movies on it without wasting screen space also the idea of veiwing two windows at once interested me. The only problem I had with widescreens was the price. Most retail at a higher price than normal 4:3 ratio screens. As I looked at the many screens on the internet ... ...seemed to be about £200. I was looking in more the £100-140 range. I eventualy found this screen and another screen by videoseven, a german LCD manufacturer. Both had the same spec (which is shown on this site) but this one is much more atractive. This one is neat and central whereas the one by videoseven has the buttons bown one side and is strangly shaped like a mint credit card! Anyway with the item I wanted and the right price I went ahead and ...

Disadvantages: The Intergrated speaker system
...many glowing reviews about the Acer Company I was much obliged too buying this fairly low cost monitor.

The AL1917WAs features a high quality 19" LCD display. Having not owned a monitor with LCD technology before I thought that the idea of picking up this LCD screen for the price I did was a great bargain. The size of this screen should be big enough for anyone’s standards, as with the 19 inches available you can see all of the ... ...Specification

Great buy
Review of Acer AL1913s by
chrispalf
Advantages: Very large screen, crisp display, very good price
Disadvantages: Slightly plasticy base, feels lightweight
If you're looking to buy a new monitor and are opting for a for a tft display, then this one is for you. Don't bother paying 150-180 pounds for a 17 inch model, when for the same price you can have one of these beautys. Massive massive crisp display, very bright with colours reproduced remarkably well. Once you've tried a 19 inch display. you really won't want to go back to any smaller. Big viewing area with a very small footprint, leaving loads ... ...which looks great in any kind of room. Great for watching DVD's too, no ghosting and very rich smooth playback, which is the same for games, although the very latest ones I haven't tried. So ditch the CRT's and the 17 inch screens, go for flat and 19 inch, you won't regret it. ...

ACER AL1951As TFT Monitor
Review of Acer AL1951As by
craggybuk
Advantages: Crystalbrite Background, DVI, 8ms response
Disadvantages: Bulky power supply
...monitor sent to me by Acer after my previous monitor, the AL1914 was deemed beyond repair. My first thoughts were of excitement as the 1951 was of a considderably higher spec than the old monitor.
My excitement became a reality when I got the monitor set up. On opening the box, I found the monitor itself, the power supply, and both a VGA and DVI cable. The stand was already pre-fixed to the monitor and this also doubles up as a wall mounting bracket, ... ...first time is something that Acer call Crystalbrite. This means that the background really is the darkest black you could imagine and is comparable to that which Sony use on its Vaio range, this is the first big improvement I noticed over the AL1914. The picture is also extremely sharp and crystal clear, and all of this is via the VGA input rather than the supposedly higher quality DVI.
If you need to change any of the monitor settings, there is ...

Big screen and a small price
Review of Acer AL 1911 by
andycharger
Advantages: Massive screen, great price, looks great
Disadvantages: Resolution restriction to 1280 X 1024, no speakers
...Welcome to the equation, the ACER AL1911. Its a bit of a double edged sword but we will come on to that later.
Basically, it is a large flat panel monitor finished in an attractive Black and Grey. Ignore the picture attached to this item, it looks nothing like that. In fact, it looks more like the image attached to the 17 inch version, ACER AL1711.
The bezel is grey and the back of the screen along with the Stand, are Black.
Moving to the front, ... ...was straightforward and informative. However Acer are quite reknown for good customer support.
Verdict? Pretty good. A great product at a great price but somehow lacks the ability to cater for our screen hungry applications when building software. However, for the average business and home user who does not require speakers but does want a large flat screen on a budget, this is the monitor for you. ...
