Economical, no-frills17 inch LCD
Review of AOC LM 720A by ReadingSteve

Advantages: Low price. Looks good. Built in speakers
Disadvantages: Not the highest quality image

We've just moved into a smaller house so my computer gear had to squeeze into a smaller space. I looked around at LCD monitors and found this one on DABS.COM. I was attracted by the relatively low price and the fact that it had speakers built in. I've always been impressed with DABS so their recommendation of this monitor made me decide to place an order. It's probably not the best quality monitor in the world. I've not used a huge number of LCDs ...
...say I have been delighted with this one. It was Plug and Play to set up and works faultlessly with my three PCs via a KVM switch, adjusting it's resolution accordingly to optimise the picure. To be honest, I've not had to use the four adjustment buttons which are mounted on the front panel - everything seems to be set up fairly optimally out of the box. The presence of a rotary volume control on the side of the pillar has been useful though. The ... Read review

Great large TFT screen, excellent clarity.
Review of AOC LM 919 by PaulfromUK

Advantages: Looks great, has speakers & USB 2 hub too!
Disadvantages: No Swivel base, fussy buttons.

I have used a 17" CRT and a 15" TFT screen before this - so I had a good idea what to look for and had to think long and hard about my budget. In the end I decided it was better to spend enough for a screen that would meet my needs for the forseeable future, although this meant waiting until I could afford it. TFT screens have come down in price a little - and this one includes some extras you may not necessarily expect, plus it is really well designed ...
...worked right away with the existing drivers and it was easy to install the supplied driver. Cable routing was tricky to see at first, until I removed a second panel - after that it was so neat the back of the monitor looked almost as good as the front! Once I set the resolution and adjusted the focus the screen images were superb! It literally felt almost like moving up to a larger living space - having plenty of desktop space at last! I have had ... Read review

An extremely cost effective TFT
Review of AOC LM 800 by IntraSpark

Advantages: Great price for the specification
Disadvantages: Seems to be no longer available!

I bought two of these monitors in May 2003 when setting up my office, the only difference from the picture being that mine have silver cabinets. A year on, they both still perform superbly and the only minor complaint that I can think of is that there are no integrated speakers. However, since we mainly use them for graphic design and modifying spreadsheets, this is no real loss. The unit could not be simpler to install - just take it out of the ... Read review

Its Fab To Watch Corrie in HD!
Review of Samsung SyncMaster T240HD by scotlandizdabest

Advantages: Fantastic Picture And Price
Disadvantages: Took 3 People To Put The TV On The Bloody Stand!

...over. About It The Samsung T240 HD is a flat screen TV which has Freeview built in, as long as you are able to access it in your area. This TV is fantastic if you are wanting to update your older one, and because of the Digital switch over that will be happening around the country, it will then save you buying a new freeview box as well. It is also HD ready which means you will be able to plug in a Blu-Ray player, PS3, Xbox 360 or any other ...
...originally going to buy a Samsung TV. We were going to stay with Sony as that is really what we would usually buy. We were always pretty loyal customers. We went to the local Dixons which has 100's of TVs on show. What was proven was that Sony was not a big player anymore. The Samsung appealed most because of the quality. It was next to a LG which wasn't as good as the Samsung. But the size of it is we, at 24" is really big. Dixons showed it off ... Read review

HP w1907v Monitor
Review of HP W1907v by kindlyraccoon

Advantages: easy to use/set up. Widescreen. Built in speakers.
Disadvantages: Not enough base on sound

I have spent my christmas money on this monitor. Looking at its clarity in the store made me decide to go for it. Getting home and taking it out of the box, I was pleased with the way it was protected against knocks and bumps. Plenty of cover over the screen to stop scratches. When I got its base fastened to the screen it was then I realised how heavy it was. It sits nice and firm on the desk. The tilting mechanism works great although a bit tight ...
...I would of licked it to adjust upwards aswell, but for the price its good. A 19 inch wide screen is definatly good for watching movies with. Connecting it up to the computer is with the VGA socket (the blue multi pinned one) and no other one is there so one thing to think about when you buy it. The cable is supplied with the unit though. The nice thing about the power cable is it does not have a mains dropper on it. You plug straight into the mains ... Read review
