(I thought it was) An Improvement On My Old Tank!
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 713BM by
anonymili
Advantages: Initially it was a huge improvement on my old monitor
Disadvantages: Very poor and slow manufacturer support
...The monitor included was the Samsung SyncMaster 713BM which I'm reviewing here.
Firstly this was the first time I'd owned a TFT/LCD monitor at home (have used several at work before now) and I was quite excited about having a monitor which took up less space on my PC workstation, having previously had a Belinea 17inch tank of a monitor (which I won't berate as it gave me good service for a good 5 years or so). TFT means thin film transistor which ... ...in your choice…
The Samsung SyncMaster 713BM is a 17 inch TFT LCD monitor which can be wall mounted if required. It weighs about 10lbs (or just over 4 kilos) and offers a native screen resolution of 1280x1024. It has a typical 700:1 high contrast ratio and 300cd/m2 brightness. With a typical 8ms response time the monitor has both analog and digital inputs and also has integrated stereo speakers. It's compatible with Windows, Macintosh and Sun Microsystems ...

One to buy
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 710 T by
Panzaman
Advantages: Very Stilish, fast response time
Disadvantages: price
...and NEC, but this latest SAMSUNG is definately the best performer.
The monitor is very elegant with a silver border, certified TCO03, the response time is very low, 12ms, I use it manly for games and watching movies and I can assure you that there is no ghosting, only a slight amount of blurring that disappears once you eyes get used to it.
I reccomend using it at the native resolution 1280x1024 and to use a DVI cable with refresh rate set @ 60hz

Old is not necessarily outdated
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 172 X by
storpey
Advantages: Slim, cheap, excellent value!
Disadvantages: Stand a bit tough to move.
Samsung SyncMaster 172x
Having been an owner of a very old CRT monitor for many years, I decided to invest in a flat-screen two years ago. This was one of the wisest choices I could have made at the time, as it was thoroughly needed by my computer system!
I did a little research into what made a good TFT (flat-screen) monitor and came up with the following criteria:
Size, both physical and virtual: The physical size (15", 17", 19" etc.) clearly ... ...local high street and the Samsung SyncMaster 172x caught my eye. It was probably the insanely low price of £89 for a 17" monitor that got me interested at first. It turned out it was part of the leftover merchandise from a sale, hence the price. I checked through all the specifications that I have listed above, to see if there was anything amiss, and to my joy, it was all fine! I purchased the SyncMaster and left the shop with a smile on my face; ...

"Premium" TV/Monitor for a not so "Premium" price
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 730MW by
yassarikhan786
Advantages: high quality, TV and radio capabilities, integrated speaker system
Disadvantages: slight chance of experiencing problems with display output.
I have had my Samsung SyncMaster 730 MW for over 3 years now and it has been very reliable over the period of time i have had it. For £300 i got a widescreen 17" high resolution display, with a maximum resolution of 1280x1024 and colour support up to 16.2 million colours (32-bit).
In the box you obviously get the monitor, a remote control, essential wires to 1. Connect the monitor to the PC, 2. Connect power to the monitor and 3. To gain access ... ...they will work perfectly as Samsung are very popular and famous for their levels of reliability and customer satisfaction. The one function i have tested is the radio function, which is accessible via the press of a button on the included remote control or via the monitor itself. On the remote control the "radio function" button is located on the top right of the remote control just under the number 9 and on the monitor you will find it directly ...

Superb Samsung
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 172 T by
ntv650
Advantages: Great picture
Disadvantages: Weak sound.
I have been using this screen for the past year. I purchased it online from Dabs.com for £333. I run it at 1280 x 1024 @ 75Hz using the analogue input. The software tells me that the monitor cannot run at this speed and wants me to use 60Hz. When run at 60Hz the picture has strange lines moving about the screen and is quite annoying. 75Hz the picture is rock steady and extremely clear The viewing angle is excellent, as is the contrast. I have not ... ...to adjust the screen to get a good view. It can be mounted on the wall if required. The screen is very good looking (important to me as the PC is in my lounge)
The output from the speakers is very tinny. This does not bother me as I do not watch DVD's or listen to music through them. This suits me as I only need sound for clips found on the Internet.
The playback of films on DVD I find is not very good. I find the picture is fuzzy and a little ...
