Iiyama - a name to trust
Review of Iiyama Pro Lite E380S by
Plymyphil
Advantages: Quality, design
Disadvantages: Price
...harddrive and most importantly an Iiyama 14" monitor.
Sadly the wages department of the hotel restaurant I worked through that long and tedious summer dictated a few small changes. The PC eventually became a 386 processor running at 40MHz, 4Mb RAM, 120Mb harddrive and no Iiyama monitor. Instead of the Iiyama I had some rebadged monitor with a huge curve and a low refresh rate. The Iiyama was the first thing to drop off the list as it saved the most ... ...than counterparts products.
Now, Iiyama still lead the field and this product, despite sitting at the budget end of the Iiyama product line is still a remarkably high quality monitor.
I have used these for about six months now and they came as part of a PC package so I can't say exactly how much we paid. It probably added about £250.00 to the price then but I expect careful shopping would see them available for nearer to £200.00 now.

Everyone should own this!
Review of Iiyama Pro Lite H380-B by
Bolly_eggs
Advantages: supports high resolution. large 15 inch screen.
Disadvantages: non that spring to mind.
...in electricity.
To summarise the Iiyama ProLite E380S-B is a top-quality monitor at a very reasonable price, I’m incredibly happy with the way it is performing and it looks gorgeous, the screen is not so bright that it hurts your eyes nor to dark that you cannot distinguish the finery, it has a soft glow which will allow long periods of use. For 190 quid you could definitely spend your money on a worse monitor.
Hope you enjoyed my review, Oli.

Probably the best monitor for £140
Review of HANNS.G HG216DP by
DAkuma
Advantages: 22" for the price of a 19" / pin sharp 1680 resolution
Disadvantages: menu navigation below average
This monitor was a major jump for me, as my old Hansol CRT had nothing wrong (aside from being bulky, using lots of power, and being ugly compared to today's flat pannels). I put off getting LCDs until now, as I've never found one that can match a CRT for pure picture quality in all resolutions. That said, today's LCD's all still struggle as a trip to PC World confirmed after I spent a long time changing resolutions on all their display models (Luckily ... ...at all and distract me from this experiment). The one monitor that stood out for price vs quality was Hanns G, which has a 22" screen for a 19" price. I bought this from AdvanceTec for less than £140 and was amazed when it arrived, and wished I'd upgraded sooned. Going from a 1024x768 to the native resolution of 1680x1050 transformed my computing experience. The sharpness in detail, which can be adjusted in 6 stages is flawless. The colours are vibrant ...

Acer does it again; another brilliant product
Review of Acer AL1916ws by
SAMesan
Advantages: quick, easy to use, vibrant, fast
Disadvantages: slow on lower-end computers
...haven't looked back since, the Acer being superior in every single way. It is sharp, vibrant, responsive and easy to use, and I have completely fallen in love with it. If you purchase this monitor I promise you will not regret it.
The Setup:
As soon as I brought it home, hooked it up to my tower and turned everything on, the Acer quickly adjusted itself to give the best picture it could, and after changing the display resolution in Windows to the ... ...the widescreen expanse of the Acer gave every single game installed on my PC a new lease of life. Whether I was playing full screen and using the whole 1440x900 to enhance my experience, or playing in a 1024x768 window that let me keep tabs on other things such as MSN conversations while playing Team Fortress 2, I demanded from it and it delivered with flying colours. Image editing programs gave me a great deal more canvas space to work with at native ...
