GNR TS900 cheap and excellent value
Advantages: there are many, please read review Disadvantages: absolutely none
Personally I do like this screen. Its large enough to have multiple applications open at once and colours are also great. It has an ultra fast response time of 8ms. It probably isnt the best for avid gamers (even though I used to game on it and never had any problems with colours/shadows/response rate) but for personal/home/business use its hard to be beaten. After 1 year of use over 8 hours per day it has not once let me down in any way. I left ... ...one night (I forgot to switch it off) and did not burn to the screen.
Its incredibly slim and really will fit anywhere. On my small desk its a life space saver and really would never go back to a normal screen.
Its big enough to watch a film and offers a really good alternative to buying a seperate TFT for watching films.
The functions are very simple and easy to use though once set you probably would not use them again.
Verdict: cant go wrong ...

Flatscreens all the range!
Advantages: sleek, stylish, affordable Disadvantages: hasnt got DVI
...if you have a problem, GNR will come to your door step and swap it - cant be bad! I also like the integrated speakers - you cant see them because they are in the back - again no more external speakers so loads of desk room.
The battery supply is also integral, it takes a kettle lead that plugs in the back, I dont know how they got this so slim but the picture quality is great!
If you do not have a TFT monitor, this is the one I would suggest to ...

So cheap you can afford two, & good quality too.
Advantages: Excellent value for money, small, light, neat and stylish Disadvantages: Slightly hard on the eyes in prolonged use
I bought my GNR TS501 on Ebay for £69 plus P&P so I really had nothing to lose in the price department. It's outstanding value for money and works well!
Having used it for a few months now, it is sometimes a bit hard on the eyes. Maybe I should try to look away every so often.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this screen as outstanding value for money. Readily available discounted because of its small size, but really who needs more than 1024x768 ... ...do much worse than the GNR TS501. The narrow bezel (narrowest available I believe) means that you can gang up two monitors with only a 16mm blank space between them.
Because it's so inexpensive, this monitor opens up a world of possibilities - second monitors, duplicate monitors for video projection etc - that weren't possible even a few years ago. Get in there! ...

Acer P193W 19''
Advantages: Excellent colours, very good resolution easy to use Disadvantages: none really
I bought this to replace a 15" CRT monitor, so maybe that is why I am so impressed, but this is a very good monitor. 1)Good picture. Whether playing games, looking at text, viewing photos etc. this monitor does well. It has a 1:2000 contrast ratio, which is very big for something of this price. There are several different modes of operation for pictures, movies, text and normal use. These are easy to find and use. It also has support for 1440x900 ... ...2)Looks nice. The casing around the monitor is plastic, but manages to not look one bit tacky. It has a stand but can be wall mounted with tools (though I haven't tried this). It is very compact and neat, yet 19" widescreen so with plenty of viewability. 3)Great value. This monitor is very cheap yet very good. If you are thinking that you should buy a slightly cheaper one, such as the "Hanns" ones I have seen, don't. Spend an extra £20 and get this ...
