Hanns G HW191D
Review of HANNS.G HW191D by
costas1234
Advantages: Price/ Analogue and digital/ Input Image quality
Disadvantages: Read further.
...relative newcomer to these shores, Hanns.G is part of the panel manufacturer, Hannstar Corporation and makes a range of low-cost LCD monitors.
I had previously owned 2 months ago a 19 inch CRT screen which caused me some eye strain and wanted to upgrade to a more modern TFT screen flat panel. Company Background
Hanns G are a Taiwanese LCD monitor manufacturer. The company website hannstarr.com states they started business back in 1998 in manufacturing ... ...and in China. From a quality standard point of view, they meet the required technology product standards. The companies global business brand customers include Sony, Samsung, and many more too mention here. So far so good.
The Product
The 19 inch screen came with a stand base which holds the monitor off the desk surface. The screen can be adjusted and moved easily left and right. This feature is really basic, there was no extras in terms of extra ...

Probably the best monitor for £140
Review of HANNS.G HG216DP by
DAkuma
Advantages: 22" for the price of a 19" / pin sharp 1680 resolution
Disadvantages: menu navigation below average
This monitor was a major jump for me, as my old Hansol CRT had nothing wrong (aside from being bulky, using lots of power, and being ugly compared to today's flat pannels). I put off getting LCDs until now, as I've never found one that can match a CRT for pure picture quality in all resolutions. That said, today's LCD's all still struggle as a trip to PC World confirmed after I spent a long time changing resolutions on all their display models (Luckily ... ...at all and distract me from this experiment). The one monitor that stood out for price vs quality was Hanns G, which has a 22" screen for a 19" price. I bought this from AdvanceTec for less than £140 and was amazed when it arrived, and wished I'd upgraded sooned. Going from a 1024x768 to the native resolution of 1680x1050 transformed my computing experience. The sharpness in detail, which can be adjusted in 6 stages is flawless. The colours are vibrant ...

Low cost, high quality LCD
Review of HANNS.G HN198D by
crunchy_with_ketchup
Advantages: Bright, crisp display, low price, good colour balance
Disadvantages: Poor built in speakers
I recently bought two of these monitors, and have been hugely impressed. The displays are clear, colour rendition is good, no dead pixels on either. I have bought Acer, Dell and Benq LCDs for work over the last year or so, and these outpace all of them, and are cheaper too.
The speakers are a disappointment, with lots of background noise. Realistically though they were never going to compete with proper stand-alone speakers, so I am not overly concerned ... ...ahead of other budget TFTs I have bought and used. The monitor will swivel both horizontally and vertically, and has masses of height adjustment too, allowing multiple users to set it to the correct height easily - no more neck strain! You can even turn the monitor through 90 degrees should you feel the urge.
On screen displays are fairly standard, no excitement but no disappointment. Out of the box they are way too bright - mine is now set to just ...

Excellent LCD Monitor
Review of HANNS.G HX191DP by
eribar123
Advantages: Very clear display, very fast refresh time, lightweight, digital connection
Disadvantages: rather bright on standard setting, but adjustable
I previously had a Dell 19" CRT monitor and although I liked the screen size it weighed a ton. I had seen LCD monitor prices falling and decided to buy one. Searching the internet found a price under £120, delivered, so went for it.
When it was delivered I thought the box was empty, it was so light! Setting up took no time at all, simply reconnected the cables and it worked. (no digital cable supplied, has to be bought seperately)
The display is ...

Excellent monitor for the price
Review of HANNS.G HC194D by
dc6118
Advantages: Cheap, clear display
Disadvantages: Poor colour contrast for video
Bought this over a year ago as part of a computer build, and it is still working as well as the day it was purchased, very good monitor, even now. Only fault I have found is the colour/contrast while watching video or film seems all wrong, and try as I might can't correct it (dark scenes are almost impossible to make out). Apart from this it is a very good monitor for general computing, display is very bright and crisp, and I have never experienced ...
