Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures is the new game from the successful LEGO series. Made in part by Lucas Arts, it means that there are no imitations here, everyone looks the way they're supposed to (well, as much as they can being Lego) and the situations you find yourself in are straight from the movies.
You start off in college, from here you can pick and choose what you want to do. On the first floor are three doors, one for each film. There are 6 levels for you to explore from each film, and relate directly to each respective movie, for instance you fight in Marion's bar in the "Raiders", save Willy from the fire pit in "The Temple of Doom" and find the tomb of Sir Richard in "The Last Crusade". All of this fully immerses you in the films and is superb for a big fan of the films like myself.
There are also rooms for playing mini games and to purchase various extras, from characters to hints. Throughout each level you can use Indy's trademark whip to smash various destructible objects, or alternatively you can just hit them. Each contain tokens/coins of varying colours and amounts, these can be used to purchase different characters and unlock the mini games. Some contain pieces which you must piece together to advance the level. Don't worry though, it's just a case of pressing a button in order for your character to automatically build them.
You can play as over 60 different characters, each with different attributes. These attributes will make or break how many different areas you can explore. For instance, some areas can only be unlocked by a Thuggee character, and some areas can only be accessed by smaller characters. So, that'll be a job for Short Round then. This gives the game a very in-depth feel and shows the game developers wanted to give the fans what they wanted; a good all-around game.
There are many different things to collect throughout the game, from shiny idols to red bricks which enables you to purchase different mini games. The levels themselves are evenly paced are quite vast. They're not too big that you get lost, but take enough time that you don't feel short changed. There's a lot to do and to collect, you have to build ropes, move boxes, things like that. The puzzles aren't that hard, so kids should be able to get through them without much trouble.
There are great animation sequences of various scenes from the films, all done in a very tongue in cheek way. They're a nice little break from the levels and quite funny to boot. They look good but not exactly going to give the Wii's processor any problems.
Overall a fun game for people of all ages! Especially recommended for anyone who grew up with the original trilogy and loves it like I do, five stars!

Review of Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures (Nintendo DS)
Advantages: everything Disadvantages: graphics are better or on other formats
...DS. he originally played the lego star wars on the xbox 360 and as it was such a amazing game and simple for him to play i thought this would be the same.
i can confirm this game has many of the aspects of the star wars game which i think is a good thing as you dont want to change everything, there is plenty of new things to do on this, using you whip as your weapon and using the stylus is a great way of playing the game, same as star wars there ... ...funny, very close to the original films with some added humor, Characters are the same as the films, and look great as lego men.
i think the whole idea from star wars and this is great for children and even adults and keep them amused for plenty of time. ...

Advantages: So many levels to play over and over Disadvantages: Can get confused on some levels
Lego Indian Jones The Lego games Speak for themselves they are addicting, fun and mesmerising platform games. I purchased Indian Jones 4 months ago and have been addicted to it since then, like a 5 year old is with a new toy on Xmas. I was an avid player on casual games on the PC and this is the perfect game For the DS. One of the best things about it apart from the graphics and dual player concept is how good it is on value for money. All Games ... ...is worth the money. Not only can you play each level twice in very different ways but for each Indian film there are loads of levels. What is satisfying to see is that the levels are not silly little ones that over as soon as possible. I find that I need to play a level two or three times, to find the little hidden areas that can be missed so easily. My favourite part was when I found out that you can blow onto the DS to blow out candles on the game. ...
