Well im sure we're all familiar with the Lego Star Wars video games, running for quite a few years now, starting with the PS2 console. Lego Indiana Jones is literally no different. Obviously theres a change of characters and a change of levels, but the graphics and the actual game engine are exactly the same of that of Lego Star Wars 1 or 2.

The game features a 2 player drop-in/out system like all the Lego games have featured so far.

Theres quite a variety of vehicles, possibly more than the Lego Star Wars series contained, ranging from cars, bikes and even dump trucks. Unfortunatly like most of the Lego games, theres not enough playing area to have a real good drive in them.

The game benefits from the large amount of characters that the Lego games always have, Lego Indiana Jones features 83 different characters from the first 3 films.

Lego Indiana Jones adds the ability to interact with certain objects, such as when defeating enemies they may drop a sword or spear or even a gun, the player can then walk up to the fallen item and retrieve it for his own personal use. Phobias were also added to the game, for example, Indiana Jones walks at a slower pace and cannot interact with objects or jump high when hes in close proximity to snakes.

The game features levels from the first 3 films, the sequel, Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues, adds the 4th film, the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The sequel also features a level editor and new improvements on existing levels, as well as the split screen mode meaning players can separate during the levels.

Really this game is quite enjoyable, the change of characters, special abilities and levels makes the game seperate from Lego Star Wars, so you shouldnt find yourself saying 'I've done all this before'. Unfortunately as it's similar to the other LEGO games, you probably won't want to play this game again once you finish the stories, i personally preferred the LEGO Star Wars games, and actually tried to achieve 100%, whereas i doubt I'd have the patience with this game.

The price has dropped dramatically recently, with the sequel been released, and this game is also available in a bundle with Kung-Fu Panda another decent game and the bundle shouldnt cost you more than £10 second hand. The bundle is definitely worth picking up if you have neither game, as both are fairly decent.
