This follows on from the success Lego Star Wars I, but covers the much better original trilogy of films (Episodes IV - VI) and adds to its predecessor's success with some excellent new features and just more routes through the game to make for many more hours of fun.

My 7 year old son absolutely loves this game, his 3 year old brother is also now getting hooked, and I always find it fun to help them when they're stuck. For fans of Star Wars, this is going to be a hit - if you love Lego as well, you've got a winning combination. Once the novelty of being Chewbacca has worn off, you've still got a great game to keep you entertained.

The game follows the films relatively faithfully and gives you the opportunity to take your chosen characters, or even your own creations, into scenes so that you can add your own twist to the classic story.

There's a good mixture of problem solving and gaming dexterity to keep you interested. The puzzles are a real mix, reflecting the game's appeal to both kids and adults, some of them will get the kids thinking whilst others will tax adults gamers.

The graphics are excellent. There's real attention to detail on the characters to give them individuality and the action chapters, such as the pursuit through the forests of Endor, really do have an edge of realism.

The whole thing is done with a sense of humour: some of the clips have a humorous twist on the original film; stormtroopers can trip over; Leia slaps her enemies and Chewbacca pulls their Lego arms off.

This new version allows you to ride on vehicles and animals so that you can find yourself driving an AT-ST or riding a Bantha. Also, you unlock ships as well as characters so that you can switch between ships in freeplay mode.

There are lots of different routes through and using the specific skills of certain characters, you can return to a chapter to take different routes, so the game will keep you interested and ensure you get value for your money.

The game appeals to children and adults and can be played together, which is a rare bonus.

There really are few drawbacks: one or two scenes are dark to the point that visibility is quite difficult and the view control can be quite limiting, which is a frustration if you are looking around for hidden canisters.

These really are small flaws though, and do not detract from this fantastic game.
