Lego Star Wars 2 the original trilogy, is the sequel to the bestselling game from lucasarts. As the title suggests you can now play through the original trilogy with all your favourite characters.
Story: You start off in mos eisley cantina, which will sort of be your base of operations, allowing you to access any unlocked missions create characters and more. Obviously many people will be familiar with the star wars story so I won't go into to much detail. You will play through each film - A new hope, The empire strikes back and The return of the jedi. Each film has 6 chapters plus a bonus mission. The game follows the story very well, allowing you to relive those favourite moments. In each film at least one of the chapters is a flying mission, allowing you to pilot x-wing's and tie fighter's - even the millennium falcon.
Gameplay: The
gameplay is very good in Lego Star Wars 2 and I think it will appeal to all age ranges. There are literally hundreds of characters to be ( and you can download more from xbox marketplace). When you first start out though you wil have a limited amount of character choices and when playing in story mode you will only get characters specific to the scene. Once you've played a mission though, you can do it again in freeplay and choose which characters you want, so you could rescue the princess as darth sidious. The main aim in each mission, other than completing it, is to collect studs. these are little lego pieces with different values. You can use these studs to buy more characters instead of tying to unlock them. It is fairly easy to collect a lot of studs if you play through a mission destroying everything in sight. Another good improvement over the original is the ability to use more vehicles. This ranges from speeders to AT-ST's (those little walkers in return of the jedi). The gameplay is quite easy as you can't really die, you just respawn. This is obviously a good thing for the younger market as they won't get frustrated. Despite this I still think it would appeal to older generations especially if you wan't the undefeated achievements, but I'll come to that later. Another brilliant aspect of the game is the drop in/drop out gameplay. What this means is if you're half way through a mission and a friend wants to join you simply pug in another controller and press start and youre away. It is also easy to drop out if one of you gets bored (not that you will), you simply press start and choose to drop out.
Characters: There are loads of characters to play as including all of your favourite heroes like Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia. You can also play as baddies like Darth Vader, Darth Sidious and bounty hunter Boba Fett . With more charatcers available to download for a small price, you're spoilt for choice.
Graphics: The graphics are visually very pleasing and they bring your favourite star wars characters to life in lego form. Being a next gen game you would expect this, and they are certainly better than some xbox 360 games, but the point of lego star wars is not realism it is about having fun (and there are some very funny moments) and I think it achieves that nicely.
Achievements: I'm not going to list every achievement as that would take a while. There are 29 achievements worth a total of 1000 points. Some examples are 60%, 80% and 100% complete and others like completing each film. I think there is a very good spread of achievements including ones for defeating each mission without dying and % complete. Some are easily attainable and you will get them as you play others you may need to work for.
Overall a brilliant game allowing you to relive those memerable moments. Good fun for all ages with a genious co-op system. The only thing I would add is maybe some sort of online play, but it does fine without it. It is also good value for money being only £29.99 on release and you could probably pick it up for less than that now. I would reccomend this and say if you're unsure just give it a try, you won't be dissapointed.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
Enjoyable read although a little bit more detail would be good to make it more helpful. I agree lists are boring but giving a few examples would work.

Good review, but it would help if you could include a few extra details such as which characters you have and can you fight as the baddies or are you just the rebellion good guys?
