Advantages: good cheap printer Disadvantages: colour could be better
Its possible these days to get printers that are really cheap, cheaper infact than the ink that goes in them itself. And this is another one like that.

The printer is cheaper ... ...look quite as good. There’s no glossy white or black finish like on their more stylish models and it does appear quick big and bulky. I think that they could have probably cut down a bit on the size as some appears just as waste.

The printer is cheaper than some of their usual models, and it perhaps doesn’t look quite as good. There’s no glossy white or black finish like on their more stylish models and it does appear quick big and bulky. I think that they could have probably cut down a bit on the size as some appears just as waste.
The buttons or rather lack of buttons on this printer could be looked at as a bad thing. However when I use a printer I tend to control all the settings off my pc anyway so I suppose it doesn’t matter that much. The three buttons that are included on this printer are the power button, the paper feed button, and the button for double sided printing. Yes, that’s right double sided printing. This is defiantly a must have nowadays, as it can save a lot of time, and a lot of paper. This is something that I really do use a lot and its great if you’re a company that needs to produce documents with work, then maybe your business logo on the back off the document, well all this and lots more can be achieved with this printer.
This even has capability for direct photo printing, this means you can connect your sd cards from your cameras or even connect a camera via USB, to the printer and print off your camera directly without the use of a computer. This is a great facility as it can save a lot of time and effort when printing photos. The only draw back though is the capability to see the photos on a built in screen in the printer which would have been nice to see added.
The built in scanner can do scanning to the computer, or it can even do stand alone scanning, at the touch of a button, and it really is that easy. It great when you don’t have to power up your computer before scanning something as it saves so much time, and I hardly even scan something to my printer, I always just print it straight off.
The printing speeds are alright is your not used to anything amazingly fast and for printing off the odd thing you’ll not think its slow. The print quality is also pretty good although words come out crisp, image printing could still be improved.
Altogether it’s a very good printer for its price, if you don’t have much workspace then id get something a little more compact however if you need something cheap, that does the job then this is the one for you.
Advantages: Great copier, reasonably priced ink, solid scanner, good all round value. Disadvantages: poor print reproduction with no seperate black ink cartridge, dreadful paper feed.
I've had the Lexmark X3470 for over 8 weeks now and In the main I'm satisfied with this unit. It offers excellent all round funcionality - printer, scanner, copier and the capability to print photos from either a memory card (accepts SD, CF, MMC, xD and MS cards) or via PictBridge compatible digital cameras. One word of caution regading the memory card option: Although the unit functions perfectly with a 2GB SD card it is unable to read a 4GB SD ... ...with the usual set of Lexmark quirks commonly found amongst there budget range of printers. That is: 1) a dreadful paper feed - don't even attempt to place more than 5 sheets of paper in the tray as they will all shoot out at once. 2) Less than perfect print quality from the one cartridge - Lexmark appear to have replaced the usual two ink cartridges (black and colour) and while this vastly reduces the cost of ink replacement (the new cartridge costs ...
