    I bought my LG3200E after getting sick of my Samsung 511 overheating, and I haven't looked back. With prices ranging from £130 (Toys R Us) to £150 with 3 free DVDs (Comet), you really can't go wrong. LG are quite a decent brand, as they design and manufacture all of their own electrical goods. This player was bought on recommendation as a result of this. The unit itself is platinum, which looks very sleek and stylish.     Advantages Advantages It's multi-regional, RCE compliant and great value for money

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Takes a few more seconds to loads discs than other machines

    When I originally looked around for a DVD player I was quite frustrated at the poor quality of DVD opinions both on here and on dooyoo at the time, particularly on the DVD players on the cheaper end of the market (i.e. under £250). A few hundred words on how much you love your £500 DVD player is not going to be very useful now is it. If I’m going to spend anything over £100 then I need details, and lots of them! But, in the interests of fairness, I’ve been testing my new DVD player out to the full in the meantime. Well, that’s my excuse anyway, and it’s been great fun ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good starter DVD player can be made multiregional via the remote control

    Disadvantages Disadvantages only one scart socket and the sound on the TV has to be turned up, if you cannot connect it to your hifi

    You can buy this DVD player for around £139 or less now. It has dual laser heads which means that when the dvd you are watching is dual layer you wont see a pause when the layers switch. The picture quality is superb (a video produces 240 lines to produce the picture on your TV screen, while a DVD player produces 500 lines hence the superior picture quality) once you have watched a film on dvd you will not want to go back to watching videos. And you get all the extra features on dvd that you don't get on video. You will find with this player that you have to increase the volume on your TV ... more

    Advantages Advantages It can't tape Emmerdale.

    So here I am aboard the DVD bandwagon. An enthusiastic newcomer tired of broken down VHS machines. The LG DVD-3200E is a cheap and cheerful place to start I think. Although I can't compare it to other models because it's the first one I've used and I don't work for Dixons (too old, and not spotty enough). Isn't it the perceived wisdom that you should either buy the cheapest or the most expensive because anything else is a waste of money? Or does that only apply to hi-fis? (Or wine?) Anyway the first, and so far only, disappointment was the lack of a SCART lead. So until I got into town to buy ... more

I bought my DVD player from www.bigsave.com just before Christmas. It cost me 157.99 including VAT with free delivery. I was really impressed with the player, which was intended as a Christmas present for my husband. It’s a silver colour and very stylish looking. Also has lots of features.
