For £170 this DVD player is a good mix of value and quality. Firstly it looks extremely good, with a smart silver finish, and it also has an extremely easy-to-use, on-screen display (or GUI / Graphic User Interface), furthermore, unlike some cheaper DVD players, it is fairly small in size! Playback of DVD's is extremely good, and it also has extremely useful features such as the ability to put markers on a film so that the player remembers where you watched up to on the last five DVD's you watched. It has good extras considering its price range, for example, scan and zoom which are really easy to use. This player in comparison with others really does look value for money, I have had 3 DVD players before the LG model, which were all above £200 and they surprisingly did not perform as well as the LG, so much so in fact that I returned them all - either faulty or not up to the job!!! It is highly reliable, and has no problems with special features on DVD's. For £170, this DVD player is excellent value, the only criticism I would make is that the remote control is slightly on the large size - but the quality and value make up for it.
