Well this tv is currently sitting in my front room looking all nice on its black and chrome stand.
Where do i start. Well i am a man, i like manly things and 42 inch tv's are my thing baybeeeee!!!!
Ok, the look of the tv is generic and is similar to most which are currently on the market. Now, i dont have another tv to cpmare it too but hopefully i can paint a big enough picture for you to be able to visualize it.
Ok, out of the box it came, surprisingly light. A few extras in the box like the booklet on a dvd etc but i wasn't bothered about that. The base on which the tv attaches too is the heaviest, nearly put the girlsfriends back out it did.
Okay tv and based attached. Now for the connecting. On the back of the tv there is room for a mulitude of devices and connection types. 2 HDMI slots, 2 scart slots and varios audio and s-video attachments. In the centre of the tv there is a handy cable tidy so all is well.
Again, sky connected, xbox connected and now the surround sound. All looking good.
Once you turn the tv on, its magic. It has an auto tune funtion which pretty much does everything for you bar make the tea. Within a matter of moments i was watching my newly installed sky HD. WOW, with it been 1080 the picture on the HD channels compared to the standard channels is immense!!! Stunning!!! On Sky movies, Short Circuit was on and Johnny 5 actually looked alive, i kid you not!!!
The Xbox itself, also has a much clearer picture, you can select the game picture setting in the menu for a more sharper picture.
Sound quality aint that bad either from the built in speakers but becasue they are alow wattage i do recommend the cinema kit for the added experience.
Well thats it really. A great tv, a great price and looks great
Although this TV may have plenty of ways of connecting external sources, there is only one way of connecting audio out which has to be done by Digital Optical cable. I personally bought this item on the assumption that I would be able to connect to my media centre through RCA cables which is not possible. I now have to upgrade my media centre to one which has optical input.
Having said this though, the picture is incredibly sharp even when watching ... ...not as good as blu-ray but I do watch my DVD's using a blu-ray player (upscaled to 1080i) and the picture is outstanding. All the picture settings are very useful with preset such as Intelligent Sensor, Vivid, Standard etc and built in audio settings allowing true voice (near to human sound) and SRS Tru Surround are a nice feature too.
Also, I like the ability to bluetooth my pictures to the TV instead of crowding around a 2 inch phone display. ...
