I purchased this monitor some time ago, and have been extremely pleased with it ever since.

>Value<
LG's Flatron technology is extremely good, and easily sets itself apart from much of the competition in this price range. I picked up the monitor for £135, new, on ebay, when it was currently retailing for £150-£200 elsewhere online.

>Ergonomics/Display Quality<
For a mid-to-low end 17" screen, this monitor features a great display. Having used predominantly curved screens in the past, I was astonished at the difference. The brightness and contrast are excellent (the first monitor I have owned that can be used comfortably at 2/3 brightness). Colours are vivid and true, and due to the Flatron techonology (which provides a completely flat screen inside as well as out) there is no distortion of the displayed image. The most significant quality that I noticed was the great visibility even in bright ambient lighting. LG's anti-glare coating is very effective, and affords a wide, comfortable viewing angle - even in direct sunlight.
A good CRT will always be better for games until the pixel refresh times of flat panel screens get lower. I would recommend getting a decent equivalent CRT screen and spend the hundreds you save on an uber graphics card :)

>Features<
The only downside to the screen is that, although it supports a maximum resolution of 1280x1024, it only manages an unusable 60hz refresh rate in this mode. Still, other than that minor problem (which is perhaps to be expected at this price), I find this monitor near faultless. The OSD (on screen display) controls are intuitive and offer a wealth of easy-to-access options.
This is a great monitor for the price, heartily recommended to those looking for a good screen on a budget.
Dave.
