Advantages: Good quality all round Disadvantages: None that I've found yet
...I bought this from Pixelmania (for £150 less than on the high street) after my old CRT TV died.
How good is it, WOW what a difference. Like being sat in a cinema
Tuning was simple, fully auto, or manual if you want to do it yourself. HD ready with integrated Freeview I now have more channels than I know what to do with.
Sound is good NCAM Stereo
The picture is terrific, it's like you are there.
LG's DX engine gives realistic colours and the levels are fully adjustable. Though I found that the default values give a perfect picture.
Loads of ports around the back, 3 scarts, RGB, HDI, etc even a PCMCIA slot.
So would I recommend this TV, too right I would it's a great piece of kit.
But remember you don't have to pay high street prices!...

...Looks
We looked at quite a few tellys when we decided to get a HD telly. This one stood out (and not just because it was on special offer). Our one is black (21LC2DB) the built in speakers seem to blend into the unit (I do not like obvious speakers). There was a wee stand that came with it which makes it stand about 3" above the unit it is standing on. I think there were also some wall brackets but not sure about that.
Setup
We bought this on a Sunday afternoon between World Cup football games and I managed to get it set up in about 5 mins before the next game started. It was simply a case of plugging in the leads (Sky and DVD Recorder) and switching it on and it did the rest.
Picture
We do not have a Sky HD box yet but even the picture quality on normal TV seems better than on our old telly. The HD example...

Advantages: Aesthetically Pleasing, Great Sound, Power Saving Features Disadvantages: Standard Resolution lacks in clarity
...I bought the 42 inch LG5000 from Currys at a cost of £649.99 a little over a month ago now.
WOW! What a TV.
<<< Setup >>>
The box is huge and does come in handy for keeping the kids happy for a while leaving enough time for you to get the TV up and running.
Once unwrapped and plugged in it really is a breeze.
As I began to set-up the TV, the size of it made an impression on me. As I fired it up the next thing to attract my attention, was the great easy to use set-up menu which takes you through the set-up step by step, explaining everything as you go through. Once set-up was complete, I got down to sampling the many features on board.
<<< Picture Quality >>>
The colours stood out to me from the outset, with vibrant, bright tones and great deep and detailed blacks. High definition images are fantastic giving...

The LG RH 177 is easy to install and set-up, and as you'd expect it has one touch record, time shift and playback. It comes with a 80gb hard drive.
When you attempt to go beyond the basic features you will notice a number of annoying features, such... more
