LG DRD 8160B

Advantages: value for money, works well, good for backups

...There are some very fast CD burners on the market although they're mainly being overtaken by DVD burners which aren't much more expensive these days. The LG GCE-8160B is a couple of years old now and used to sell at PC World for £69 but can be picked up cheaply on eBay these days. The box contains the bare drive which sports 16x CD-R writing, 10x CD-RW writing and 40x reading as well as all the usual IDE cables, screws and sound card leads. The supplied software is Roxio CD Creator version 5 which is the latest version although not the full 'Platinum' style. You can still burn almost any type of CD although some of the more esoteric features such as vinyl restoration, and Video-CD creation are missing. You can of course use 3rd party software or upgrade to the full version of CD Creator 5 Platinum. A bonus is a good pair of manuals... Read review

...LG M227WD comes up with 22" Wide format monitor TV. It is designed to let users enjoy simple and convenient access to many Audio Video / TV devices such as a DVD Player, VCR, Video game console, camcorder and many more. The design is compact, sleek and slender and the performance quality is, in my opinion, above average. The vendor claims that the two built-in HDMIs, digital video and audio signals can be processed with no distortion. The better one is that the two AV home appliances can be connected at the same time. This monitor is also equipped with a Stereo 3W x 2 Multimedia Speaker. With all this features and functionalities, LG M227WD is offered at about £190. To sum up, LG M227WD offers great performance. It's a bit expensive but in my opinion it's still affordable.... Advantages: PERFORMES WELL LIKE OTHERS.
Disadvantages: NOT A LEADING NAME IN HARDWARES AND SLOW

...Although LG is not the leading names in both computer hard ware and software production but they have some thing really to offer in this their LG GGW multi blue precisely. The LG drive is capable of copying and reading information's as fast as it can and on the other hand the DVD play back. I got this specifically for writing and duplicating plates. CD writing has been a convenient stuff for me since I got this. I won't emphasize on the drive of being slow because in general, LG drives are slow in their performances but what I will emphasize on is the durability. It has lasted quite long in my household without problems and I like that. The drive needs Microsoft windows XP software recommendations, windows XP home edition and other Microsoft wares.
