Hi,
I got the phone 3 months ago as my trial-entry into the Windows Phone 7 / post Windows Mobile phone world. This isnt one of the very looooooooong reviews as fairly usual on Ciao, but more my 2 cents on this...

Overall, I am happy with the phone itself, the amount of features is satisfactory – however, defo lagging behind the popular iPhone. Here is my comments on the key features/details:
Battery:

This is the most important aspect for me because i hate daily charging. The battery usually lasts for up to 3 days, mainly depending on internet-usage. I am more a call/text man on phones, thus probably not the typical smartphone user.
Features/Settings:

You have one kind of dashboard as initial view where you can put your favorite icons/apps/features, and browse to the second screen with the list of all of them. The amount of color selections for the phone is quite limited, even with the Mango update. Ringtones is fair enough, The camera is of decent quality, in particular thanks to the panorama image feature. Sync with ZUNE works nicely, even though I find ZUNE fairly cumbersome to use. The WLAN connection is sufficient in terms of speed etc. Same for Email-settings available. The Text-messaging system has been improved since the Mango-update (small steps towards Apple). Searching is now available for the App overview etc. Combining your contacts into one per person is kind of cumbersome, but once done, it works quite ok.
Apps available:

The selection is yet poor compared to Apple, but some like public transport work really really well. This is my main usage – Facebook and other stuff is also available in plenty. Games is one of the goodies I think, I tried Need for Speed which is fun in waiting queues! Newspaper selection is fine. I haven’t tried music downloads, since I am not a music listener on smartphones, I prefer the “old-fashioned” distinction between phone and mp3 player (Walkman-addict in the past), which may also increase my battery time for calls:-)
Summingit up

Overall, I like this phone. I have dropped it on the streets like 4 times now and it showed great resistance so far. For heavy smartphone users the iPhone is probably the better selection. For me, I tend to say I am pretty happy with this one – I like a different look&feel, not the mainstream Apple view…

I wish you had written more about the phone, you focused mostly on the software.
