When my old monitor started wobbling at me and giving me other problems, I looked around for a replacement. My desk is cluttered and a vast tract of it was taken up with the monitor, so I started thinking flat. LCD screens are still expensive, but if you look around you can find some bargains. I was even luckier, on my way to check out one shop, The Computer Superstore, home of Jungle.com I stopped off at a local computer shop, DES. As a result, I came away with one of last year's models at a good price.
I've looked at a number of LCD screens and found very little between them other than price. The LG model has been floating around at the lower end of the price range for a while so I was a bit nervous about the reasons. I've tried it with fast games and with photo software, and I am very pleased with it. It's flicker free, which is good since I spend a lot of time looking at it, takes up minimal space, 1024 x 768 resolution, has good visibility and looks good. What more could you ask for? If you want to be picky, text isn't as sharp as on a CRT monitor but that's the only downside and seems common to all the LCDs I've seen.

This screen is at a great price but packed full of features! It has extremely good graphics with 450 brightness and 550:1 contrast which is far above average for that range of TVs
It has great connectivity, it can be connected to 1xScart 1xRGB-TV as well as RGB-PC (uses same port) which connects to your computer for the ultimate connectivity as well as all the other normal connections as follows:
15" Flat scren
1024x768 res.
500:1 contrast 450 ... ...BBC, 120 on other terrestrial channels for now & next guide
OSD (on-screen display)
6 Watts speakers (not especially good but not bad)
NICAM stereo (may get a little shakey)
S-Video connection
1 SCART socket I recommend it for anyone who wants a great TV to optimise/minimalize the workspace needed in an office (can be used as TV/PC monitor ...

Manufacturer's product description
LG Electronics enters the LCD market with the 500LC, a 15.1-inch LCD color monitor with a sleek slim design. This active matrix TFT display produces rich, bright and clear images and text with no flicker. The 500LC is ideal for situations requiring accurate displays of critical data and images as in medical or manufacturing operations.
