As for the colour, I have decided to put my hand in my pocket and go for the black, right on cue! For years now, different manufacturers have swapped between black and silver, and both have stood the test of time, it is of course entirely up to you.
The size of the screen is measured diagonally, from corner to corner, and the resolution is 1366x768. It has 20W of sound output, and a Dolby digital surround sound decoder.
A stand for this TV is included, although I am sure some shops will try to charge you for one. It has of course the usual auto Setup and Parental Lock or Parental Control, tofether with Sleep Timer, Teletext and a Clock.. The remote seems user friendly, (it even has batteries) and the manual is easy to understand.
For this who need to know, the weight is 13.7 Kg, and the dimensions are 807mm wide, 607mm high, and just 249 mm deep. I like the price too, and have seen these at just £384 which is pretty good for an LCD TV nowadays, although delivery is another fifteen Pounds. Amazon are charging £430 with free delivery. (Their extended warranty is cheaper though).
The picture looks good, even when you are at an angle, and you can "tweak" the sound to suit your own ears.
The warranty is the usual one year, and this can be extended to two years for £69, three years for £89, or go the whole hog for £149 and get peace of mind for five years. I think this warranty is good, however just remember you are getting the first year for free.

Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: Picture quality poor at all levels
This tv is excellent value for money for a name you will recognise, however for you die hard TV viewers the picture quilaity is just not good enough.
The first way I viewed the TV was through the stand aerial. It displayed the analogue picture okay, but you are never going to get anything special from an analogue signal.
I then switch to the built in freeview and was in shock at how bad the picture was. The TV had serious shadows and any fast action ... ...not respond well to the cold, and my house freezing so I left it an hour to warm. I cam back to discover the TV, while massively improve, still had some shadows.
Then the ultimate test, I hooked up my XBox 360 with its HD-DVD player and was hit will my most disappointing result. The quality was actually worse than analogue picture, the blacks were far from black and there were dots in any large section of colour.
Now I am painting a very negative ...

Advantages: Looks good, Disadvantages: Picture not always clear, long delay between using remote and channel being changed
We bought this TV about a month ago and in general, are very pleased with it.
It's easy to put on the stand - as long as you have a screwdriver handy and looks very impressive.
Picture quality is good but in a standard sized living room where you have to be relatively close to it, the picture isn't always that sharp (you can sometimes see the individual squares when the picture moves around the screen (sorry - don't know the technical name for ... ...that when you press the remote to change channel, it's quite slow - it takes a couple of seconds for your choice to appear on the screen and then another couple of seconds for the channel to change. Having not used digital TV's before i'm not sure if this is just a quirk of this model or of digital TV's in general. This probably wouldn't worry most people but if you like channel surfing during the ads it can get a bit annoying!
Overall, good value ...

Advantages: CHEAPER THAN MOST Disadvantages: SUFFERS IN PLACES
Hi all.So its the LG electronics 32lc56 your thinking of buying.i bought this last month. Its a big television for not that much money compared to some of the more bigger names in the running. So i decided on this one .The built in digital box is a nice touch and cuts out a lot of messy wires. This also means that instaling digital tv is more strait forward and beter for yer gran to work out. However its not all plain sailing as the picture quality sufers ... ...up to some of the better brands. My x-box 360 looks ok on the tv.Its still a lot beter than my old tv.The sound quality is good when pluged into a decent surrond sound.
