I was recently browsing aimlessly through different major manufacturers product lines, looking for a 37" LCD for under £600 - and then I came over this little beauty. Priced at only £470 from AJ Electronics, I first thought that it couldn't be as good as a similar sized LCD from one of the major manufacturers like Sony, Panasonic or Sharp. After reading rave reviews about how good it was for the price and it being value for money, i took the plunge and bought one.
From the moment it arrived on my doorstep, I can honestly say that I have had no problems with it, and in fact it really impressed me to say the least. Initial setup was easy and straightforward - instructions on how to attach the stand were clear and concise and also setting up the picture signal was quick and effortless. The picture settings are also very easy to manipulate and change after the initial setup. I believe I was watching tv after 15 mins of it arriving at my house!
I have seen poor reviews for the size and 'cumbersomeness' of the handset. I have never found it to be a problem - to me it is sized the same as any other standard handset. As for the picture quality, this really did impress me. Watching any fast moving sport or film is great - there is no blurred or streaked picture like other budget LCD's. Although the picture is not jaw dropping, it is still outstanding for the price you pay in my opinion.
Sound quality and levels are great. It really does kick out a decent amount of crisp sound, much better than some top of the range LCD's. Remember if you are buying this LCD, then you don't really need to be worrying about buying a sound system / surround sound to go with it.
All in all I love my LG 37LC55, I believe it was the best purchase I have ever made, so if you are put off by the low price - don't be! This is one serious piece of equipment for the money! Hope this helps.
