first of all i can say at this point in time i could not purchase a better 42 inch lcd for the price of 899 with 100 hundred pound off in the currys sale having looked at lots of lcds this 1 came up tops
as for looks lg have made a great effort with this tv very sleek and also light love the new style of this lcd as for specs here is what you get * 80,000:1 contrast ratio * 200hz * Built-in digital TV tuner * 4x HDMI, 2x SCART, 1x Component, 1x PC * Twin XD Engine * SRS TruSurround XT * Wall Mountable * Available in 32", 37", 47" it also comes with usb for using with a flash drive or if like me a spare hard drive so you can view your pics it also works great with the hdmi input with laptop great picture but i would say on 1 point that they say on the currys web site there this is what they have to say ..........

not all true as i found after watching some films that i could see a ghosting affect as if the tv could not keep up with the picture after phone lg i was told to turn off the true motion as it not really for films more for sport ..how ever you can have it on low and its not as bad ..with true motion on the picture look almost to sharp and the flow does not seem to good but with it off i found the picture for me better and the the picture is great on this with lots of options ..ie sport game film vivid energy saving mode there are lots of options to play about with i also bought the LG BD370 blue player for half price 100 pound when bought with this tv also a great buy not only does it play great on blue ray it upscale's you old dvd to near 1080p and connects to the net for utube so i would say a great buy for the cash you could put the 42LH5000 AND THE 42LH3000 side by side and they both look good its only when you take a step back to what i call the sweet spot there you can see you the picture difference ...is it worth the 300 pound difference for me i would say that the LH5000 does have a better picture and worth the extra and for me a better tv and remember if you buy both ask for a free hdmi cable as they don't give you 1 so out of ten i would give this tv 9 out of ten why only 9 as there is always room for improvement
