...About 18 months ago I walked into Comet with the intention of buying a Flatscreen 28-inch TV (I had already seen the one i wanted) and a cheap dvd player with surround sound to go with it. I didn't have any criteria for choosing the dvd player other than it had to have 5.1 surround sound and it had to be affordable. The first model i looked at (i can't remember what make it was, but it was only £149) was very basic, but seemed to be what i was after. The sales staff are very persuasive though and they managed to talk me into buying the next model up - the LG-DA3520. At £199 it was at the top-end of my budget, but it did look massively better than the one I was originaly considering. Advantages: DTS/5.1/ProLogic surround, reads most discs
Disadvantages: Mediocre remote control, clumsy to use. Slow to read discs on startup or switch function. Occasional hiss on surround audio

...I believe that the LG mp3 player is an extremely well put together package. Because of its tiny, size (a thing, which scared me when I got it out of the box I thought I had lost a part or something). Then there is also the obvious fact that it is a mp3 player that is under the £100 mark, which is a big, selling factor. The other part is that LG is a superior producer of electronic goods with a low price mark for a high quality item. I also like the fact that the players memory can be upgraded, compared to the static memory of certain other players.... Read review

Advantages: Nice looking and performing TV
Disadvantages: Failed after 31 days - still wating for return almost one month later

...Good - quality of the picture, connectivity, style Bad - reliability, LG service For the first month of having this, I would have wholeheartedly recommended it to anyone. It failed after 31 days. LG had it taken to a local repair shop. Nine days after it failed, they identified that the power supply had failed. 7 days later, the repair shop told me the replacement power supply had failed. Still waiting after almost a month. Throughout this LG customer service have been completely disinterested, would not escalate, would not let me speak to higher authority. I had to write a letter to them to get any further action - in this day and age - a letter! Totally unacceptable. LG CS are only there to fend off complaints. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.... Read review
