Disadvantages: Unreliable

...-out resulting in inferior picture quality. The biggest problem though is what I believe to be poor design. The recorder has no ventilation on the top of the unit (only at the sides and underneath) and as a result suffers from what I believe to be overheating problems which result in the machine behaving strangely. In short, you can almost certainly pick up a similar spec machine from a different manufacturer for the same price, my advice would be to avoid the DR275 if you can.... Read review

Advantages: Reliable DVD player/recorder with great features at a very reasonable price.
Disadvantages: Has been surpassed by other models and newer technology.

...To begin with, I purchased an LG DR 275 DVD recorder about 6 months ago now and had being using it frequently until I upgraded to Sky+. It is still in use but just doesn't record very much these days. I would reccommed people buy the player but not if they are looking for the height of DVD player technology.. This is a very standard, functional and effective DVD player/recorder but is not the most modern in terms of cutting edge technology because it is by no means at the top of the market and is not in the same league as some of the more expensive/newer DVD players/recorders. I got mine for £99.99 from an internet site and looking back on it was probably ripped off looking at the prices they are available for now but still.. it does the job. ...when I got my LG DR7400 home, I was feeling rather apprehensive, were there going to be any more nasty surprises? Remote Dimensions 21cm x 5cm The best things about the LG DR7400 are its nice slimline design, which is understated and doesn't have any garish flashing lights or really naff glowing record buttons. Secondly, it comes with a very good remote control, as pictured on the left. Some remote controls for other brands of DVD recorders have had their functionality reduced by lowering the number of buttons on them. They believe that this makes it easier to use, because a remote with less buttons on it will look less daunting to a "techno-phobe". The reality is however, this makes it more difficult to use; rather than just pressing a button on the remote to zoom in, for example, you then have to press a button to bring up... Read review
