The LG Electronics FA-162 is no exception. The gloss finish makes the stereo look very classy, the touch sensitive panel glows red and the LCD display welcomes you with a plethora of easy to read information such as radio information, CD track, equalizer, clock and different bass modes. Indeed, the front panel is a wonder in itself and is very easy and intuitive to use.

Let's deal with sound quality. This hifi pumps out 160w of sound which is quite a lot of ''oomph'' for a home stereo. The tweeters and speakers on the front of the speaker units offer top quality sound. High-hats are easily disernable from the middle range without any distortion at high volumes. Both of the speakers have a sub-woofer each which enables the stereo to pump out some incredibly low sounds; I would recommended placing them apart and somewhere where they will not cause too much vibration.

The CD Player is nothing special, it'll play pretty much all of your collection, even those copied CDR and CDRW's. The Aux-in'll accept everything you throw at it, the radio receives well and displays station information, the USB port will allow you to plug in your Mp3 Player or flash drive and play Mp3's or Wma's from them. Even the remote control is easy to use. However, the small things like clock, touch senstive buttons and Xtra Bass Boost System are superfluous extras.

Overall, this is a very commendable stereo the Korean manufacturer have made here. It'll do, accept and play pretty much everything which is a bonus for compatibility with so many standards of audio today. The speakers very rarely distort and the sub-woofers allow the FA-162 to show off its audio might. As the volume increases, it doesn't level out until it reaches ''MAX'' on the display panel.

Definitely recommended and a very good buy. I am glad I purchased this hifi and will continue to buy items from LG's on the strength of their quality and longevity of their products.
