I've only had this machine a couple of days, but I'm already in love with it. It's the first time I've been out and bought a Tumble Dryer before (having been given them previously) and to be honest, I chose the matching washing machine and bought this to make the set (LG WM14331FD - the set cost £750 from Comet as a package deal). But it's fabulous !

You don't tell it to tumble for an hour, or 45 minutes … you tell it what you're drying (cottons, synthetics etc.) and how dry you want them (iron dry, airing cupboard dry, dry or extra dry) and it then weighs the load and gives you an estimated finish time. The machine then constantly tests the moisture levels of the air in the machine and stops when the clothes are at your desired dryness … excellent ! No over drying, no wasted energy, no coming back to the dryer to find things are still damp.

You also get this great gadget that looks like a grill pan stuck to a coat hanger. You stick the coat hanger end into a hole at the back of the machine and put your trainers or delicates on the grill pan. The dryer then dries and turns the drum as usual, but the grill pan stays horizontal and doesn't move. Hey presto - dry trainers that haven't bashed the drum into the middle of next week and delicates that still look good.

The dryer comes with a drain pipe so you can have the water drained away rather than filling up the water reservoir.

The end of cycle sounds is a pleasant "cuckoo" sounds that's load enough o hear but not so load as to disturb. The machine overall is fairly quiet and doesn't seem to throw out any more heat that any other machine I have ever used. Not pleasant in this weather (July) but also not unbearable.

The drum even has a light inside so you can see what you're doing and you don't miss any wayward socks ! There's also an easy to operate child lock.

So far, I can't say anything against this machine. Easy to use, quiet and efficient, whilst pleasant to look at and reliable.

This sounds good. Can you tell me what the rating on it is? I'm always looking for things that are more economical to use than the one I have now. Emma.
