Advantages: It works!
Disadvantages: it needs a very solid floor

We have solved the problem and it WAS NOT to do with the machine! It turns out that old victorian floors have too much bounce in them for this machine. These machines are happiest on solid concrete floors. We were going to move it to another place in the kitchen, but our local washing machine repair man (who is a genius) came up with another suggestion. ...walls are a lot more solid than the floors, this means that the machine base is attatched to the walls and operates perfectly. We still get the odd unbalancing problem but nothing like before. So if you are having the problems I described in my original post, check the floor and find a way to make it solid (either support underneath, or a floating platform). ... Read review
