Because it is direct drive (no belts to slip or break) it is quieter, more efficient and there is less chance of a breakdown. We've washed quilts, blankets, towels, clothes, training shoes and even bath mats in it and its never complained nor done less than a great job.
The machine can handle an 8kg load with ease and if you overfeed it it lets you ... ...that it was pretty good in terms of power usage as well being rated A++ largely based on its lack of a drive belt (no slipping) and the fact it weighs the load to ensure the right amount of water for the job. The spin cycle is considerably less bouncy than normal machines again due to the direct drive. It doesn't take too much of a boffin to realize that the lack of a belt will cut down vibration and thereby power consumption. This direct drive mechanism ... more
With this machine you get what you pay for. We've used it now for around 9 months. Never had a problem with it. Originally we planned on buying a washing machine costing up to £500 but when my saw this reviewed in a gadget magazine, she wanted this one. We ended up going for the boring white and silver colour combination (there are quite a few different colours available) and it looks great alongside the silver fridge.
Now to the meat and potatoes of the review. Well it washes clothes well. The display is totally clear and (as silly as it sounds) the way it switches on adds some colour to a usually bland experience. From the tuneful 'bong' when you switch it on, to the colourful selector dial to the informative large lcd display, it all lightens a dirty job (sorry!).
We found the steam function which decreases the clothing was superb. It really does work. In addition this can be used to freshen up clothing after its been stood for a while. It is great at working out the time needed for each wash by analyzing how much is in th tub (which is larger than most anyway) and putting just enough water in to do it. The display shows exactly where it is on the cycle and how much longer there is to go. Should you want to take more control (although quite why you would is beyond me) you can change spin speeds, temperatures etc from the automatic setting. The maximum spin speed is a very good 1400 considering that it will carry that extra large load. Also the spin efficiency is supposed to be pretty good being rate at A.

The machine can handle an 8kg load with ease and if you overfeed it it lets you know as it refuses to carry on. We found that it was pretty good in terms of power usage as well being rated A++ largely based on its lack of a drive belt (no slipping) and the fact it weighs the load to ensure the right amount of water for the job. The spin cycle is considerably less bouncy than normal machines again due to the direct drive. It doesn't take too much of a boffin to realize that the lack of a belt will cut down vibration and thereby power consumption. This direct drive mechanism also has an added benefit in that it makes it much quieter than normal washing machines.
I can't even think of a reason to say anything bad about it. As a fella, I can use it easily which is a big selling point, now I only need to remember to take washed clothes out of the machine!

Advantages: big drum, quite quiet and very stylish Disadvantages: a bit on the expensive side
So far so good, Had this washing machine for 3 days now and i must say im very impressed. A washing cycle can take up to 2 hours but so did all the others we were looking at. It has a big drum so you can wash a double duvet in it, no half load button but it does dectect the washing and uses just the right amount of water, so you can wash 1 item or 20 items. The crease care button seems to be good too as i washed the kids school shirts and didnt need ...
