The phone is 98.8mm tall, 49.5mm wide and 16.2mm thick. measuring just over 180mm when the flip is opened. And although its a hefty phone it weighs a mere 98g. The KF300 from LG tries to be a 'slim and stylish flip phone for those who prefer an extra large keypad and changeable font sizes', according to LG's website. And i must agree with this statement. Its a handset that does a straight forward job, and offers great keypad useage for those with larger fingers who can not fly over the keypad or a touch-screen. Not only does this phone boast a large and easy to use keypad but the screen section has four buttons nestled neatly underneath. These are shortcuts to the phone's alarm, calendar, photo album and a favourites listing which you can populate with up to 12 more shortcuts. The screen is 2.2in (average size), with 240 x 320 pixels. Above the screen is a large grille containing the handset speaker. The front screen displays the time again in large characters. Also telling you the name or number of incoming calls and can display an alert for incoming messages. The KF300 is a quad-band handset. There's no Wi-Fi or GPS. There is 14MB of built-in memory, not much but you can use a microSD card. But the slot is very inconveniently located under the battery. So if you want to swap cards or insert a card you must turn the phone off and take it appart at the back to do so! The camera is not the best and even the superfine quality setting sees images lacking definition and detail. The battery life is ok with up to two hours of talk time and 200 hours standby. The range of applications is standard including an FM radio, calendar, memo maker, voice recorder, mobile email, calculator, stopwatch, and world clock.
Overall this is what its believed to be. Nothing special just a simple phone that does the basics and offers an alternative to those who want a phone with a bigger keypad thats easy to use and easier on the eyes. A guide price of £90 may seem steep but is the perfect gadget for anyone wanting a straight forward phone. It will last a long time.
