LG Electronics was founded in 1958, and in 2005 they were in the top 100 of global brands. They have produces some of the most innovative phones over the past few years. With having the revolutionary LG 'Chocolate,' phone having one of the first heat sensitive touch screens, and the new LG Viewty having one of the first 5 mega-pixel camera phones, with PDA style use. The company are definitely one of Sony Ericsson's strongest rivals, for ingenuity f new, attractive and high desirable phones.

This phone is available on pay monthly ranging from free up to around a hundred pounds depending on your price plan, but it is also available on pay as you go up to around £200. My boyfriend got this phone last weekend on a t-mobile contract, and I have to say it is such a nice looking phone I was very jealous. For me it has the perfect features, but it also has LG's renowned build quality that sees phones last a good year before major problems develop. Thought from a weeks worth of use it has already accumulated some smudgy finger prints, but with a totally heat sensitive front screen it is not surprising..!

In box features;
• Phone

• Data cable

• Manual
• Pouch

Opinion;

The most interesting thing about this phone or at least something that is given in the box when you buy the phone, is a pouch, because trust me it is definitely needed. The screen is so prone to fingerprints sticking to it. I never thought a phone could attract so much grime within a few minutes of using it..! Although if you are unlucky enough to be somewhere cold, it I fairly difficult to use the touch screen as it doesn't seem to respond too well in the cold. What surprised me most except for the fact it become increasingly dirty very quickly was the fact that as a person who has really long nails, used them to press the button, surely if this is a heat sensitive touch screen my nails could not register on the phone?!

The display to be able to navigate around the phones gives you 5 changable options, they are;
• Menu
• Messaging
• Sound/Vibrate
• Call Log
• Contacts
• Expand the bottom screen for a continuation of the screen

By changing the sound/vibrate options you can make the phone vibrate when moving around on the touch pad, when scrolling down. To scroll down the menu there is the option to either use the '+' sign in the middle and scroll down or press the down arrow every time to move the menu. When expanding the bottom screen to incorporate the theme, it does show for example in the aquarium theme the silhouettes of adults and children as if they actually were in an aquarium. The most publicised one is of the little dog, which has a shadow of the dog running along the bottom, but I feel the aquarium theme is nice, with a Shark, Puffa-fish and Turtle.

I was looking through the actual menu of the phone and at first found it very difficult to find the camera application, for the first few times the camera application I had to use from sliding down the phone again and pressing the dedicated camera button on the side. Unlike the Sony Ericsson's this LG doesn't have the camera shutter that protects the camera from dust and such nasty things that get into even the most cared for mobile phones. Neither does this phone have a cover for the camera from the back casing as in he 'Chocolate.'

The actual camera is pretty good; it has numerous different options of resolution which is great if the picture is going to be sent in a MMS, as the smaller resolutions can be used, but for a good quality photo without pixilation the biggest resolution. The picture quality on the highest resolution is brilliant especially with the anti-shake function switched on; it does provide the same kind of quality as a digital camera on its own, with many features, like the anti-shake, auto focus and digital zoom.

The in-built memory is 25Mb, but for most this is not enough, but for even the biggest photo taken on this phone there is more than enough room for a fair amount of photos. The phone takes a micro SD card, which are fairly easy to get hold of, it can take up to a 2Gb memory card, which is significantly less than is actually available, even wit the Nokia N95, which can take up to an 8Gb memory card, which is a downside.

When making calls the phone is practically crystal clear, the only downside is obviously your own network coverage in the area, having been on both the receiving and calling end of a phone call, I would say that the phone calls are of a relatively good quality. But obviously the screen is going to get a bit sweaty and sticky from being pressed to your ear if you are on the phone for a long time, but for short phone calls it's much more appropriate. I'd also imagine that if the phone is cold then it would be very cold on your ear when making a phone call anyway..!
The phone holds 50 missed calls, received calls, and dialled calls.

The messaging feature is really innovative, when typing a text message, it is in either predictive text or type in your own way as is present within most phones. There is also a fantastic feature that I think is a really ingenious idea. When making a text message there is a feature where you can use your own handwriting can be used on the touch pad, providing your handwriting is clear enough the phone will automatically recognise the letter and give you a message done in your own hand..!

The battery I have found is average, it doesn't last overly long but it's not too short, most people charge their phones over night so this is a perfect phone for those of you who like to charge your phone every day to be protected just in case you get caught out without your charger. It takes around 2-3 hours to charge if the phone is switched on, if it's off it will obviously take less time and last longer.

As I mentioned before this phone is available on pay monthly and pay as you go…
If you are old enough it is cheaper on pay monthly, but if you want to rely on yourself pay as you go is a much better idea..!

This phone is fantastically innovative and is worth the money, it has so many features that a lot of phones don't. The handwriting feature of the messaging is so different that I think in a few months time lots of phone companies will be doing this to their phones, and we can say LG got there first..!

If you want a different phone with individual features, this is the phone for you, with the excellent LG build quality and the value for money; you can't go far wrong with an LG.
