I recently aquired the LG Flatron 1710S in a bid to save some space on my computer table. I used to have an old 15 inch CRT monitor which took up half of the desk and only just about left me with enough room to get the keyboard and mouse on the table. with the flat screen half of the desk is free for other junk!

On pulling the beast out of the box you can see that it looks sharp, not to mention that you do not have to be a professional weightlifter to move it!

Connection to the computer was dead easy with only two wires to deal with and it was then automatically detected by the computer so installation was not a problem either.

The display is huge as you lose very little of the seventeen inches with a flat screen display. This is great for spreadsheet work such as excel etc

Maximum resolution is around 1200 x 1000 on this model which is great. Those digital photos and DVD's look great.

However if you are into PC games then beware. The response time of the screen is only around 16ms which can be a little slow if you are trying to play a racing game.

If like me the PC is used for work, most of the time, then get one. These monitors are great and they can even be wall mounted if you want to save even more desk space.

This has to be one of the best monitors on the market for the price!
