Reason for Purchase
Like many people I wanted to gain some more work space from my desk which was largely overcrowded by my 17CRT monitor. With this beauty I managed to gain back a whole foot of desk space!
Looks
The monitor is stylish in its charcoal and grey/silver colours which added that final touch to my PC with a futuristic black and silver case.
Price
At just under £200, considering it is one of the cheapest 17" available, it is certainly good value for money.
Build
The base is steady (ideal for my home office with its bouncy floor boards). And it is not cheap and flimsey like some.
Wall Mounting
There are threaded screw holes in the back for attachment of a wall bracket - BUT BE WARNED - some sellers state that this can be hung like a picture, which to me suggests two screws in the wall and hooking on, but actually you need a bracket which costs in the region of £50.
Set up
To set up there is an installation disk to allow perfect configuration to your system, which is easy to install -- my Fiancee set this up with no trouble! The power and data leads tuck neatly into the vertical connections behind the stand. The foot folds up for wall mounting to keep it out of the way
Performance
The performance is fantastic compared to my old monitor, and to other TFT's I have seen, with resolutions from 640 x 350 to 1280 x 1024 at 75 Hz; which provides super clear text and graphics.
Features
The on screen display is also very easy to navigate and allows for the room conditions with the option to adjust settings with the press of a few buttons.
Dimensions (WxDxH) 38.6 cm x 15.2 cm x 37.2 cm
Weight 4.3 kg
Points to Note
These monitors are also available in Beige and Charcoal, thankfully Ebuyer - my supplier - exchanged this for me as they advertised the silver and sent the beige.
One advantage of TFT's in general is that the viewable screen size is considerably more than the corresponding size of CRT. My old monito although 17" had 15.7" viewable, while this is the whole 17".
