"Its a screen for chrissakes" I hear you mutter, "It doesnt make any difference"
OK, granted no screen could make up for swapping your card for a geforce 6800, but this LG costs less, and: Will clear up valable desk space Make your office/room look much more modern Set your screen at a higher resolution Make games and movies sharper than ever before
With a 90 hertz refresh rate (how many times per second the screen is refreshed) and a maximum of 1280x1024 resolution, this LG comes in tops. The response time is a mere 15 m/s - and all these three put together mean serious gaming or movie watching. As a replacement from CRT (cathode ray tube - old screens) this is an obvious first choice as for a 19"TFT screen with specs like this, the asking price is very good - and as it will last much longer than a graphics card (a good seven years at least, not before it breaks, before you should consider upgrading) it is not worth getting a 17" for the sake of one hundred pounds is it? LG , as i know from previous experience are a good, trustable company who can only get bigger - so dont worry about their credability. As a move from one TFT to another, this may not be so good - im not saying its bad, but its not four hundred pounds worth of difference between any other 19" TFT on the market - there are no special innovating features, and it doesnt come with an underpants warmer. So if you already have a TFT i would not recommend it u unless your original was on the point of nuclea meltdown. The Lightview technology is also very useful. It is a set of pre made light contrast and brightness settings which are named according to what you are doing, namely: night - movie text photo day movie text photo
thes are very useful as anyone who has been up late keying will know the eye strain, but the modes are adapted to each to minimalise this.
The screen itself is extremely easy to set up and configure; two wires, in turn on and most PC's will not even need the drivers.
As far as aesthetics go, this also scores pretty high. The chrome effect on the panel against the black on the stand make it look very good in most rooms, whilst the sleek stand and panel also give a modern, sophisticated look. It is quite quiet aswell, you could easily go to sleep with it on whilst your modem is downloading TOTALLY LEGAL NOT A LITTLE BIT CRIMINAL OR HACKED SOFTWARE :).
So i would say, if you own a CRT and have 300 to 400 quid to spend, get it on this as it will last longer than a graphics card and it does have quite an impact,as i noticed when i played FC (far cry) on it. However if you already own a tft, wait a few years untill all screens come with a pants warmer as standard.
There is nothing particularly unique about this product, but then again there couldnt relly be could there. But a precise attetion to detail and high scoring in every area makes it one of the best TFTs on the market.
Very helpful. My current LSD monitor has already failed once within the first year, if the replacement fails again I may well be looking to purchase a new one. Thanks for the info.

Pity about the pants warmer what with winter approaching.
