...3 years ago i bought LG Flatron 795FT Plus. And i'm still don't need anything else. LCD quality and response time isn't very good now. Better buy good CRT than poor LCD for the same price. LG Flatron 795FT Plus is one of the best solutions choosing monitor. Some specifications: 17-inch, 100% flat, 0.24mm stripe pitch, USB HUB. Using USB HUB you can connect 4 USB devices more. It's very practical for usb mouse, keyboard, scanner, digital camera and other usb devices. It can work in 1024x768 resolution with 100Hz refresh rate. Your eyes won't be tired after hours of working. 17-inch monitor is small today, you can look for other LG monitors with 19-inch, but if you have money only for This monitor then buy it, it's worth all money you spend on it.... ...This LG GDR 8163B is the latest DVD-RW drive from LG and as per usual is Brillaint to use. This is dual layer drive....8.5GB potential Burns CDr's at 40x about 2 min 32 secs @600mb on an 80min/ 700meg cdr. Also does CDRW DVD-r are a breese and the drive is very fast and quite. DVD+r little slower but works fine with all mainstream disks. DVD-Ram too but the disks a bit expensive so farfor me to try. DVD-RW disks are a breese again using Nero newest version and back-up data is straight forward. Have used Datawrite Grey 8x DVD-R and INFINITI 16x Green DVD-R no probs. But would suggest spending a little moer on good disks. 8XDVD-r time is about 7 mins for 4gb data and 7min 50 secs for DVD files. Overall good machine and well worth the current cost of £35-£32.... Advantages: Cheap ish, bright, probably very good for film / games

...After seeing my mates Dell 2007FP 20" 1600x1200 I was really impressed, supposedly no good for games at 16ms lag but I couldn't detect any ghosting. The Dell was spectacular, maybe because of the res, but its £350 so a non starter. I was going to buy two LG 19" for the same money as they seem to have the best contrast ratio, so hopefully the sharpest picture. Having said that.... I believe the 1400 and 2000 LG claim on their monitors is 'contrast enhanced' or something and not a true ratio. I had a Hanns G from argos currently £99 as the cheapest they sold for a test. It was very good, but I thought I'd swap it for the £150 L1919S to see what it was like before buying a couple on line. Bottom line, it was a good bit better than this LG. Frankly, the Hanns G had a much better picture. The picture on the LG is very bright... Read review
