Advantages Very easy to set up, amazing colours

Disadvantages Price has escalated recently

Back in August 2007 I purchased my computer and was supplied with a bog standard 18inch TFT monitor, I don't even know what make it was as the box it came in was not labeled.

At the beginning of this year the monitor started to become very hard to turn on, I would have to press the power button for up to five minutes before the screen worked so it was time to purchase a new monitor.

I didn't want to spend a lot on my monitor so after browsing around various sites I settled on this monitor and purchased it from amazon.co.uk for the price of £91.99 back in February (today it is listed at £156 and £199 depending on the seller and item you click on).

The monitor was very easy to set up with my PC, I was able to just unplug the power lead from the old one and swap it straight into this monitor and once connected to my tower set up was done.

Once I turned the monitor on (just click the blue button) I was impressed with the brightness, my whites had never been so white and its very easy to change the settings via the buttons on the screen in the right hand corner.

It also reacts very quickly whilst turning on, my old monitor seems slow in processing the information compared to this one.

There is a 4.3 in Wide button which changes the screen from wide screen to standard, a Menu button which allows you to change the picture, colour, tracking and set up using the up and down buttons.

You can also pick pre set modes by clicking the engine button picking from movie, internet, user and normal and a demo mode to show you how to utilise the monitor to its best ability.

The option that I use is the auto set button which picks the best resolution for whatever you are doing, I only use my PC for the internet, email and basic gaming so don't need to know how technical I can get.

I am very happy with this monitor for the price I paid but on looking at the prices offered today I am not sure I would purchase it from Amazon now as they do have better and bigger screens available but if your looking for a good quality decent sized screen its worth looking around for this screen elsewhere.

You don't mention the size (although the model number is a clue), the connectivity, the highest resolution and the response time. Just four of the several important factors in purchasing a monitor.
