...The L’Occitane Brand.
*************************
This is probably a brand that a lot of people won’t have heard of. Olivier Baussan created L’Occitane a little over 25 years ago, and based his products around the scents of the flowers that grew around his home in Provence. Using natural ingredients, plant extracts and essential oils he created a range of cosmetics that are high in quality and rich in natural scent.
The Product
**************
Here's what L'Occitane has to say about their product:
"L'OCCITANE'S famous Hand Cream is our number-one selling product... and for very good reason. Enriched with 20% Shea Butter, this super-creamy balm in a take-it-everywhere tube quickly penetrates to protect, nourish and regenerate the skin. We blend nutty ingredients such as almonds, honey and coconut oil into this buttery, fast...

...of manufacture.
None of their products are tested on animals.
None of their products contain any animal product or by-products. Although they do use honey and milk in their soaps - which, lets be honest, only adds to their yumminess.
One product used in their hand and body creams is shea butter - this is mnade from shea nuts grown in West Africa and harvested by the local women, as a result L’Occitane has formed a Fair-Trade Co-operative with the women in the district of Bukina Faso.
I make no apologies if this all makes L’Occitane sound, well, how shall I put it, slightly dull and a bit worthy. Believe me, when you try any of their products the care and attention (as well as the good-will) that goes into their manufacture makes them truly lovely to use - and the smell is divine.
WHAT DOES L’OCCITANE SELL:
Think of the South of France...

...in the pores.
L’Occitane claim that this product protects, nourishes and helps the skin to regenerate (this applies to the upper layers of the epidermis). This I can believe with its wonderful ingredients of honey, shea butter, althea, coconut oil, almond and not forgetting linseed. The company actually refers to this cream as a balm now which is also understandable.
Applying Tip
I was once told that when applying cream, any cream to the hands, always smooth the cream in with an upward motion starting from the fingertips and progressing to the wrist. This is to avoid stretching the skin in the wrong direction. The reason for this? Well, if you look at some older celebrities you’ll find that their hands give away their age. They might have gone the facelift rout but their hands cannot lie and will show every wrinkle. So don’t drag the skin...

I first came across Korres on holiday in Greece. I’d never come across the make before but due to a missing case I had no toiletries of my own so had to replace them.
