When the package arrived from QVC, I must admit, I wasn’t that excited about it. It was only hand cream after all, and I was sure it would be the same as all the others - great to begin with, but the silkiness will soon wear off after half an hour, if I’m lucky.

I currently use Neutrogena when my hands become really bad – if it’s good enough for the Scandinavian fishermen, who am I to argue – otherwise, anything really, but I can’t say that I have been that impressed with anything that I’ve used so far.
I came across L’OCCITANE lavender hand cream, whilst watching QVC. It was during one of their “Beauty Hours” that first I saw it. It sounded too good to be true, but as it was QVC, I knew that I could return it within 30 days, if I didn’t like it, so I thought that I would give it a go.
My hand cream package arrived yesterday morning. It was a duo pack and cost £16.54, for the two tubes, which included postage and packing of £2.45.
Inside the packaging was two boxes – approximately12cm x 5cm x 4.25 cm each. The boxes themselves oozed ‘class’. They are cream in colour, with lavender writing on them – the top of the box written in French, the next part in English and finally at the bottom, the’L’OCCITANE’ name, and the weight reading, of 75ml – Net Wt 2.6 oz. A real impressive part of the box is the fact that one of the sides is written in Braille.
On opening one of the boxes, I was faced with a silver tube. The tube has a cream label, again with lavender writing on it, mirroring the writing on the outer box.
I turned the navy top of the tube and, once opened, gently squeezed a very small dab onto my hand. The cream was very light in texture, and almost buttery, but without the grease of butter.
I gently massaged both hands together, and could not believe the result, my hands immediately felt soft and moist, and a very delicate, fragrant, lavender smell wafted in the air, from my now smooth hands.
Does it last? ~~~~~~~~~~~~
It does. Although the lavender fragrance wore off when I washed my hands, strangely enough, the softness didn’t. However, I do admit to putting tiny bits on once or twice during the day, just for the fragrance.
I have had this product for just over 24 hours, and can honestly say that my hands are in the best condition now, than I can ever remember.
This hand cream obviously appears expensive, but if I can use it for the purpose that it was intended, i.e. softening hands, and not just for the beautiful fragrance, then I think these two tubes will last for a very long time – and definitely longer than the equivalent amount of hand cream that I could purchase for the same price.
I recommend that those of you who have access to QVC try this product, and use the QVC 30 day money back guarantee to return it if you don’t like it – however I don’t think that you will.
The ingredients are quite a bit of a list, starting with aqua-water and including ‘Shea Butter’, but I would be quite happy to supply the list if anyone needs it.
Advantages: Smells wonderful; leaves hands very soft Disadvantages: Price, lid could be better
I love L'Occitane products for their gorgeous fragrances and natural ingredients, so when I saw the lavender hand cream, I just had to have it. THE PACKAGING
I have long since discarded the box, but it was a lovely quality, thick cardboard in a creamy colour with a lavender coloured border and scrolly writing, as far as I remember.
The tube inside is typical of l'Occitane's simple style. It is a silvery metal with a dark blue octagonal screw cap ... ...available mail order directly from L'Occitane (http://uk.loccitane.com).
A comment on availability is that you might not get hold of it al year round because L'Occitane cycle their products according to harvests, so that you are getting a very fresh product. I always keep a spare tube in so have not found this a problem as it lasts so long!
I am not really a hand cream person so I love the texture of this one, being so light. However, for anyone ...

Advantages: Divine Lavender Smell, fab packaging Disadvantages: Not big enough!
...smell, so when I discovered L'Occitane had a lavender hand cream I had to try it.
This handcream comes in a 75ml tube that looks like an artists oil paint tube, very stylish. It contains Shea Butter to nourish and soften the hands and essential oils of AOC Lavender. The price of it does seem to vary. If you buy it from a well known shopping channel it costs £17.00 for a duo, but it can cost up to £10.00 a tube.

The cream is a lovely white colour and I found is very easily absorbed into the skin, leaving it quite matt. My skin did absorb a lot of this cream, as sometimes after a small application my hands wanted more, and it would take a double application ...

with the handcream.
L?Occitane do a lighter Lavenderhandcream which smells divine (if you like lavender) and is very cooling on the skin in the summer. You could use the Lavender during the day and keep this richer one to apply before going to bed.
WARNING
This product does contain almond and so for anyone with a nut allergy you should avoid it.
Conclusion
I do consider this handcream to be quite pricey but you get what you pay for. I'd gladly spend this and more if my hands continue to resemble skin and not stretched ribbed cling film.
