Removing make-up can be a real ordeal particularly if like me you plaster yourself in it daily! I'm always on the look out for really good, easy to use cleansers that are reasonable in price and give good results!
The Packaging....
100ml black and see through, plastic tube with flip top opening to the bottom of it. On the front in silver, white and black writing I'm told it is L'Oreal Paris Dermo-Expertise De-Maq Expert Elixir Concentrate Ultra Make-Up Remover 'For waterproof & long-lasting cosmetics'. I'm told it is a professional formula and then I'm told it is 'Our most concentrated formula in make-up removing ingredients' and that it's satin touch and for the face, eyes & lips and that it is skin tolerant and dermatologically tested as well. On the back of the tube I'm told a bit about the product and how to use it, ingredients are listed, contact details for L'Oreal are given, size is stated (as I've divulged already), the recycle symbol is displayed and finally there is a bar-code on there. Nice enough, sleek bottle which contains all the information you could possibly need on it!
A Bit About The Product According To The Packaging....
If you use waterproof mascara, non-transfer lipstick or long-lasting foundation, you need cutting-edge make-up removing technology which is effective and gentle on skin and eyes: Try De-Maq Expert Elixir Concentrate Ultra Remover. Every evening, remove your make- up with a professional.
De Maq Expert is a new generation of make-up removers created by the L'Oreal Laboratories, combining our make-up and skincare expertise, to bring you:
Cutting-edge make-up removing technology Respect for all skin types Unique textures which leave the skin silky-soft inspired by the needs of make-up artists.
Directions For Use.... To Be Applied To Dry Skin....
Apply a small amount of Elixir Concentrate to the face using your fingertips. With your eyes closed, smooth the product along the eyelashes to dissolve mascara. Add a little water and the gel transforms into a fluid milk. Wipe off with cotton wool, or rinse with water.
Me Using It....
Well as directed I put it on to my dry, made up (still) face to remove the make up from it. The gel is sort of like a light yellow coloured liquid in the tube (as you can see partially through it) but when you dispense some on to your fingers it's just very lightly coloured.
A little of this oily feeling gel blends well into and over the face so you really don't need very much at all and less is more. Problem one is yes it does dissolve make-up however it dissolves it all into one big dirty mess on the face and you can't see properly where your clean and where your not. However it dissolves make-up almost immediately and you can actually see it penetrating eyeliner and mascara and if you use a long lasting lippy like Max Factor 'Lipfinity' it really moves that too and make up crumbles under the weight of this.
Then simply your meant to wet your face (or wipe with cotton wool) and yes the gel does transform into a light white fluid milky texture. However once again not for long that white colour goes grey and drips dirt off you face and everywhere!
Results....
Tackles some make-Up but not all. It does remove the majority but me, I can't get on with it at all. I'd much rather just stick with normal cleanser and toner than go to all this effort with rubbing grease into my skin and having to wash it off just to be left with remnants of old make-up clinging to my skin for dear life. As I say yes it removes the majority of make-up but always, I find some eyeliner and mascara still stuck to my eyes which means after using this I still have to tone my face to make sure everything is removed which means this product on it's own in my opinion is useless and untrustworthy. I have used this and then toned with some cotton wool afterwards and still make-up is removed through that method!
The only positives I can give this is yes it does leave the skin feeling velvet smooth and hydrated and although an oily product it hasn't upset my sensitive skin in any way shape or form however it's no good to me at all if I can't just wash my make-up off and moisturise straight afterwards. Too much effort is needed for this to work and I can't be bothered with it at all!
I bought mine in Boots for £5.49 but do shop about for this!

Advantages: None Disadvantages: Bottle hard to open, not sutiable for sensitive eyes, oily, messy,
I own the De-Maq Expert 'Absolute eye & lip make-up remover' - 'suitable for sensitive eyes'. 125ml
It's an awful product. After spending a good 10 minutes looking at all the makeup removers in Boots I chose this one, purely on the basis it's a "professional formula" and that its suitable for sensitive eyes. It's wrong. I don't particularly have sensitive eyes but from time to time I do wear heavy eye make-up. Especially when it comes to eyeliner. ... ...barely any eye makeup at all and it still irritates them. They appear red and dry (eye lids especially go red) after use. De-Maq advertises itself being Opthalmologic tested. You'd expect something that says this to be fine with delicate areas like the eye. It's also apparently suitable for contact lens wearers. Personally I wouldn't risk it.
In the advert, one simple swipe takes make-up away. Not on my face! I ended up with it all down my face ...

Advantages: Effective at removing make-up, hydrating, skin left clean and silky, removes tough make-up Disadvantages: slightly messy, confusing labels on bottles for cosmetic beginners.
I've been using the Loreal milk-toner and Elixir Concentrate Make-up Remover and was very impressed with them. I wear heavy foundation on a daily basis, alongside mascara and liquid eyeliner. Before this product i'd been using Simple facewipes to remove my makeup but was never satisfied with how the wipes removed my makeup and dried out my skin. Loreal's new range is so hydrating and I feel comfortable knowing that my thick foundation is being removed ... ...using this product it's calmed down so much.
Although the Make-up remover in particular is quite messy to use, I like using it because you can feel the make-up dissolving on your face, which I find a comfort because I sometimes worry that I havn't removed my cosmetics properly. After washing it off as directed (I don't waste time with cotton pads) my skin feels silky and fresh, especially after using the milk-toner which is so refreshing.
I'd really ...

Advantages: one cloth for all face Disadvantages: higher price but worth it
I always by these cleaning cloths when they are for "offer" price (sometimes even half price!) and I can say they are the best I have used so far. Yes, the price is higher than other brands but you should consider that you buy 40 cloths, bigger size than other brands and actualy they ARE cloths not just piece of paper like cotton which usually tears off. These cloths remove everything from your face, you do not need special eye-makeup remover if ...

Advantages: Totally removes all my make up Disadvantages: Can be slightly pricey, but lasts a long time
For years and years i have been trying different make-up remover products, toners, 2-in-one etc and still always end up with panda eyes in the morning until i discovered this product. The nicest thing about this is that it takes me no time at all now to take off my make-up in the evening. I just damp my face with warm water, apply a small amount, a little does go a long way, rub in for a few minutes and remove with a flannel soaked in warm water. ... ...the feel of this product and the smell is divine. I usually buy this product in Boots or Supermarket at around £5-6, for 150ml but decided to shop round and bought it online for £3.99 from Fragrancedirect.co.uk (i tend to order a few items from here at a time as there P&P is around £4.50) and i have even purchased from Ebay. The product states that it is for face, eyes and lips, therefore, removes the need for a seperate eye make up remover, which ...

Advantages: Velvet soft, Lots of foam Disadvantages: Left skin feeling tight
I have used many different make-up removers in the last few years but i have never come across a product with such high quality and such a little price. The formula is soft like velvet and is able to be used on the whole face. This luxourious creme creates a smooth velvet like wash which takes of even the most stubborn make up with in a few seconds. The product leaves skin silky soft whilst leaving it refreshed and squeaky clean. The product lasted ... ...most days, It costs just £3.91 and is held in a 150 ml bottle, Not bad eh?!
The product is dermatologically tested and uses a professional formula. I found one extremly small problem whilst using it, my skin felt a bit tight after washing it. In my opinion i think this product os worth this small amount of money as it is quick and effective, IT DOES THE JOB WELL! ...

Advantages: Removes waterproof make - up, has a nice smell, efficient - will last for several months Disadvantages: Complicated to use, irritates eyes and blurrs vision, expensive
...I am posting this review for the second time, first one was in an incorrect category and I asked Ciao to delete it
I recently bought L?OrealDe-maqExpert Elixir Concentrate Ultra Make-Up Remover. It is designed with professional technology to remove waterproof and long-lasting cosmetics from eyes and skin.
Before, I had tried another product to remove my new waterproof mascara but it didn?t work so I decided I would opt for something more effective this time.
To be honest I was tempted by the price of this product, which was quite expensive at £5.49 in Boots (I though expensive product must work well), and claims on the tube that it contained a ?professional? and ?most concentrated? formula. I bought it.
Packaging:
The tube looks professional, has very good description and instructions on how to use the product...
