I'm a huge fan of the 1950's. I adore movies, comedies and make-up, especially MAC.
I carve my own tikis and take great joy in sewing my own 50's style dresses. some are even from original 50's patterns!
It's an awful product. After spending a good 10 minutes looking at all the makeup removers in Boots I chose this one, purely on the basis it's a "professional formula" and that its suitable for sensitive eyes. It's wrong. I don't particularly have sensitive eyes but from time to time I do wear heavy eye make-up. Especially when it comes to eyeliner. But I've tried this product several times with heavy to barely any eye makeup at all and it still irritates them. They appear red and dry (eye lids especially go red) after use. De-Maq advertises itself being Opthalmologic tested. You'd expect something that says this to be fine with delicate areas like the eye. It's also apparently suitable for contact lens wearers. Personally I wouldn't risk it.
In the advert, one simple swipe takes make-up away. Not on my face! I ended up with it all down my face in whichever way I wiped. Which is especially bad when you're doing other peoples make-up!
The formula itself is greasy and oily despite it saying on the front of the bottle "Removes all make-up even waterproof! Non-greasy". It comes in a 2 layer formula, the blue being the make-up remover and the clear being some form of freshener. You're directed to shake the bottle vigirously to blend the two phases. If you shake the formula for 10 seconds it only lasts for about 20 before its starts to separate again. Which again, is not good when you're doing other people's makeup or if time is of the essence.
The feeling of my skin after use makes me want to instantly wash it. Even without touching it! De-Maq allegedly is meant to leave your skin with a "luxuriously soft, fresh sensation with no greasy residue." This couldn't be further from the truth!
The bottle is extremely hard to open and needs a lot of force top flip the cap which, if you're in a rush, usually involves it splashing everywhere.
I've had better make-up removers by own brand companies for less than £1. I highly suggest to anyone who's even considering purchasing this product to think again!
