Baby Melissa Skye born on Saturday 29 March 2008. Nearly 21 months old now, running around and into everything! Not been on Ciao for a while, been busy with Melissa and part time work, hope to be back on here soon. 091209.
According to L'Oreal, it contains the active ingredients of:
Actirox - this acts from the first use to eliminate dandruff and top it from coming back
Equaderm - this cleanses, and restores the scalps natural balance.
The shampoo is recommend for normal to greasy hair.
This product appears to have been relaunched, as I have a bottle in my cupboard that I bought ages ago, and that is greay and says Anti Dandruff shampoo for men on it. L'oreal have now obviously decided that women get dandruff too.
L'Oreal state that there are proven results where dandruff disappears and your hair is left shiny with no scalp irritation.
L'Oreal recommend that you use their product every day for optimum efficiency and results.
COST AND PACKAGING +++++++++++++++++++
All L'Oreal Elvive shampoos and conditioners come in plastic bottles. This one is sold in Boots, £2.48 for 400ml size and it is sold in a distinctive blue bottle. Boots also quite often have Buy One Get One Free offers on Elvive products, which would make it even cheaper.
I always feel that this product is aimed towards men, but if you look on the L'Oreal website, they show pictures of men and woman beside the bottle.
MY EXPERIENCE ++++++++++++++++
Elvive products have a lovely smell, which makes your hair smell really nice all day.
Anti dandruff shampoos usually have a distinctive smell. The Elvive version does not have a strong antidandruff smell. Products like Vosene and T-Gel have a much stronger smell.
I have never had a serious dandruff problem, just an itcy scalp and mild snow on the shoulders if I scratch my head!
I only ever use a small amount of shampoo, as Elvive really does go a long way.
I got into the shower, got my hair wet and applied a small amount of Elvive Anti Dandruff. It lathered as my usual Elvive does and I rubbed my head really well to stimulate my scalp. The shampoo rinsed off easily and my hair was squeaky clean.
I always have to use conditioner as my hair is so fine, so I cannot comment really on how my hair felt afterwards as regarding shiny etc.
My head did feel a bit different. I wash my hair every other day so I used this shampoo for around 3 weeks.
I did notice a difference, the dandruff did disappear and my scalp stopped feeling so itchy.
Previously I had been using T-Gel once a week to keep dandruff at bay, but it is very expensive at around £8 a bottle and it does have that dandruff shampoo smell.
I think that the Elvive product is a lot cheaper whilst obviously not so strong, but if you use it regularly in place of your regular shampoo then you should notice a difference.

Advantages: Soothing and does what it says it does - i.e. gets rid of dandruff Disadvantages: None so far but scalp could get used to it forcing another change of shampoo
